Elite Dangerous Issue Report - 10/08/2021

I ran into that. Hopped into my SRV to check: was in the power building.
It's been consistent since the odyssey launch. One entry on the list is always blank, and if it's the last one then you can't track them.
Last time I had trouble with it was when I set the power reg shutting down early to save time, figuring 3 minutes would be enough to clear the workers out of the IND building (I'd already had a fight with the guards) and it turned out that the very last person wasn't in there.
One mildly-distracting fight with a bunch of scavs later (they literally spawned in the courtyard before my eyes when the power shut off, didn't even have the courtesy of pretending they were dropped off by a dropship - I guess you can get away with that if you assume the player will be in the power building when the power gets killed) I had to recall my ship and use the SRV to find the guy - he was in the CMD building in one of the rooms I forgot to check, I'd cleared out the security section but forgot to cross the hall into the ops room.

I've had the opposite - head outside the building to see a hovering viper, but no-one drops. Carry on and ignore it. When done I called in an Apex and that was the trigger - they dropped but I was too close to the taxi :)

Most of the time I do see them drop from a ship - though I wouldn't put it past fdev to give them invisible drop-ships :D

Hi guys,

Please keep your votes coming over at - https://issues.frontierstore.net/reported-issues/elite-dangerous
You can vote on issues that are in the "Confirmed/Acknowledged" Status, use the filters on the left and get voting!

Cheers!
Sally, On this particular note, can they increase the limit on the number of votes we have at one time? Its really hard for us to put problems to a vote when we are limited to 6 and there are 29 items to vote on. There is a realization that not everyone is experiencing the same issues but some of us are experiencing quite a few and want to put those items to vote but we voted on things 4 months ago and now due to the limit, we cant vote anymore unless we withdraw the previous votes on items that still haven't been fixed.

Still awaiting an official response from FDev on this:

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threa...report-10-08-2021.587868/page-12#post-9461239

I think the Power Play community has been extremely patient, but we need a statement from FDev on what is going on; why is a game-breaking bug, allegedly fixed but isn't (so was that a lie to just get it off the list?), being completely ignore, in the meantime, t rival issue, such as not being able to donate stolen tritium, is getting higher priority treatment and has been fixed?

Dose FDev even care about Power Play? Is it dead? If so, let the community know so that we won't bother with it anymore.

Thanks and looking forward to some sort of response.

Heyo, looking into this one.

Honest opinion FD?

The issue tracker working by votes is flawed.

This right here is an issue that is causing players to get engineers unlocked for free.

This is not something you should trust common gamers to vote for as needing a fix.

If a bug benefits players, they will do everything in their power to make sure it remains unfixed.

Not only this, but you are asking players to take advantage of what is likely an exploit to "confirm it."

You need to get external testers. If you cannot reproduce this internally for whatever reason, you need external testers to confirm it instead. This is not something you should trust us to help you with. Most of us won't, sadly.

The desire to make this game run well and right is not as pure as you might think.
Alright, the weekend is up and @Zac Cocken is online.

What is up with this? When do we get to progress normally again?

Seriously, I cannot stress enough that most of the community is not going to bother voting on this one. It benefits them so most people here will not want it fixed.

Greetings Commanders!

I'd like to introduce you to something new. Below is our first Top 20 Issues table, summarising the highest voted issues on the Issue Tracker. As part of being open and honest about the game's development, we'll be regularly posting updated versions of this table and discussing it on our Supercruise News streams.

Note: the status and planned release of each issue is subject to change as various factors affect the ongoing development schedule.

Top 20 Issues:

  1. Problems With Lighting and Illumination: We're happy to say this is now fixed since Update 6, having spent some time to monitor it afterwards. Any new issues to do with lighting should now be reported on the Issue Tracker as normal.

  2. Degraded Terrain Textures Compared To Horizons: A lot of the work for this went into Update 6, with some finishing touches coming in Update 7.

  3. Tiling Planetary Features: Changing the way planets are generated signifies a huge undertaking, so we're still investigating this.

  4. Low FPS Performance In Odyssey: This work will continue up to the end of the year, with improvements added already in Update 6, we know there is more to do.

  5. Limited Gameplay During Apex Shuttle Rides: Nothing to share at this time.

  6. Game Hangs On Exit Sometimes: Currently under investigation, we'll aim for the next update but it's one of the fixes more likely to end up in a later update.

  7. Invincible Thargoid Heart: We know this is a longstanding issue which has a complex cause. It's still being investigated and hasn't been forgotten. If you would like to contribute some information to this issue and others, please read this post.

  8. Anti-Aliasing Not Working Correctly: Some changes will go in Update 7 or 8, with significant improvements, but a full anti-aliasing system is slated for later this year.

  9. Joystick Buttons 32+ Not Working: Not started as other issues are prioritised.

  10. Expose Telemetry Data For Motion Simulators: We're currently discussing this internally, and may decide against it. If it does go ahead, it won't be before Update 8.

  11. NHSS Signals In Odyssey That Should Contain Interceptor Are Empty: Appears to be fixed, should arrive in Update 7 pending some further QA testing.

  12. Increased Performance Problems Since Update 5: Some further improvements are coming in Update 7, while general optimisation will be ongoing. The coming change won't be a fix for everyone, but will resolve some of the drops players are seeing.

  13. Supercruise Stuck At '0' Time Remaining With Tunnel Forming: Currently under investigation.

  14. Fleet Carrier Modules And Finances Not Calculated Towards Assets: In progress, slated for Update 7.

  15. NPC Fighter Kills In Conflict Zones Count As Progression: Currently under investigation.

  16. Support Missions Have Been Culled: Fix should be incoming in Update 7.

  17. A Previously Present Codex Entry Is Now Missing: Under investigation. Currently considered lower priority.

  18. System & Galaxy Map Misalignment In Widescreen Aspect Ratios: In progress, unlikely for Update 7.

  19. Stolen Tritium Cannot Be Donated Into A Fleet Carrier's Fuel Depot: Fixed, should arrive in Update 7.

  20. Missions and Rewards Not Sharing With The Team: Fixed, should arrive in Update 7.

This is a reflection of the current scenario, and due to the ever-evolving nature of game development, the planned release for these fixes is subject to change. Let us know what you think of this report below!

See you in the black Commanders,

Thought I'd dip in to see the state of everything.

Encouraging to see all this attention to important issues so, I think I'll give it another few months and check back again.

Hey - we're still in the process of reproducing this internally - if any players experiencing this can submit a netlog to the issue, that would help massively.

You are literally asking players to exploit a bug that benefits them.

Look at the replies on the ticket. We even have a guy there asking for the fix to be to remove the requirements entirely!

Honestly, just consider this: This game's players frequently go looking for ways to skip grind, and when they do, they defend it viciously.

The community is not going to help with this. We as a collective do not deserve to be trusted to help enough here.

I am trying my best myself but let's be real, people here do not want it fixed by and large.

I thought you should see this thread. It has existed this long.

@sallymorganmoore Apologies if all this seems like pestering, but I have just confirmed that it very much is the act of boarding the SRV (I've been approaching in SRV lately for ship safety, so haven't tested that), not disembarking that resets the missions. Considering this gives me considerable bounties (ie, I get paid a lot) when there are bonus scavengers, I suspect this is not the sort of behavior wanted (assuming it's an attempt to prevent farming: well, it now enables bounty farming).

1. Can't exploit a bug with no reliable way to reproduce. *can't make it happen. They're also just asking for the net logs if it's happened to that account.

2. I'm asking only for most of them. Most of the Engineers are repetitive! (do same things.) And some are just annoying.

3) You've been advocate for third party bug testing. So have to be taken with a grain of salt...

4) * Very minor bug, can still play. And doesn't affect everyone.

Well, you are on earth doing a great job exposing how little you care for quality.

Number 17.

Did not vote for that... Completely not my fault. :)

I also remember when engineer method was worse. *when it came out. It was random and took more mats than it currently does. I just feel that since they "just" fixed it being impossible to unlock access to engineer. It's lower priority than some other bugs... And I know for absolute fact they also have internal priority list that won't be changed by how many "votes" an issue has or doesn't have.

It's not a contest dude. Being unable to donate stolen tritium has been an issue since the launch of carriers and it's one that's stuck out like a sore thumb to people that like to do the occasional bit of piracy. Let's not pitch one niche optional playstyle against the other, 'cause I could just as easily call anything related to powerplay "trivial" on the grounds of not personally affecting me.

Powerplay has been half baked/unfinished since launch a lot longer lol. I mean, I don't powerplay any more having all the pp modules. But first come first serve should be the way. As it is, the issue tracker IS a popularity contest which is absolutely moronic
