Elite Dangerous | System Colonisation Beta Details & Feedback

I just lost my status as system architect. It is a bit annoying since I already build 2 space outposts + 2 ground installations. Is there any way to gain it back?

You could report it as a bug.

A rival player or group would lie in wait and monitor the progress of the penultimate primary station. As the architect player / player group cannot be expected to play 24/7, there would be a moment when they log off, but the primary is close to being finished. The rival group would then deliver the remaining commodities, finish the primary, and apparently be able to immediately gain access to a colonisation contact and issue a claim for the target (final) system in the tendril.

That sucks, but it enables some competition for the claim.

I just lost my status as a system architect too, the yellow crane is gone. The colonisation ship is still there, as is the beacon, but both are not blue anymore. Was 40% through building a Coriolis station with 25k tons of goods delivered, including 10k tons of CMM. 2 hours ago, everything was fine, and I claimed the system and set up the beacon 4 days ago, so the 24hrs timeout is not the culprit. Time left was more than 3 weeks plus some days.

But seems I'm not alone exactly 🤷‍♂️

the BGS has revolted and kicked all the architects out

Help please. Faced with such a problem: after the construction of the first station in the system (COL 285 SECTOR CM-C C13-10), he began colonizing the neighboring system (COL 285 SECTOR CM-C C13-7). After receiving the colonization task (sending the colonization beacon), my built system ceased to be mine and switched to the "Invalid" status. And after placing the lighthouse in a neighboring system, the colonization mission (C13-7) disappeared. As proof, I attached screenshots with information about the builders and architect of the system and the current status of the system (C13-10)

The architect should have control over when their station enters a finished state - for example by pressing a button on the UI. Or at the very least, contact availability should not occur before the weekly tick so that all players get the same chance at claiming (i.e. the architect does not end up with a worse chance).
When the final commodities are delivered to a facility a congratulations pops up with a confirmation button.

That is bad if it pops up for anybody other than the System Architect.

A small grace period where only the architect can make a claim from their new system may be something to consider here.
When the main port is complete a player could be given 24h before station services are unlocked for players other than them.

I just returned to the game at 92% and… everything disappeared. I mean, I’m not a system architect anymore, and my mission is missing – shocking. But when I opened the Galaxy Map, it showed a red cross – Invalid System – instead of the usual pink rectangle with a hammer. I see dozens of such systems, so something must have crashed on the server.

Lost my System also. I wanted to test a smaller station because the construction time of the larger one would probably exceed my lifetime. Really Frontier. This update is just useless boring grind stuff without much benefit and personal long-term motivation. And since my station and system was apparently stolen from me, I've definitely had enough of this nonsense.

Seems to be making the rounds.

I don't really see where the competition is in this situation. What's the architect supposed to do, stay guard in-game 24/7 to make sure the station doesn't finish when he's offline?

The potential for competition is of course always available. The rival architect can always claim a parallel system (which has the target system also in range), build their own station there with the easiest outpost and do the work. Whoever finishes first gets access to claiming first. Competition. But of course no one would do that, the whole point of executing a snipe is to bypass most of the work.

Looks like a big ol' fat mess around here.
Suggestion.... Why do we need tiers?
I will never (likely) build a tier 3 structure,. so the tier 3 points I get from building a tier 2 structure is worthless. Can't we just have simple points?
I had no idea this was the case and built a relay and a security structure thinking I could build a Coriolis next, but nope. I got tier 3 point which I can't use to build a tier 2 coriolis so now I need to grind out several more structures before I get to grind out the one I want?
Also, I cannot deconstruct the one I built to earn my tier 2 point back. This is all craziness. Honestly, who does that? I mean we weren't given any guidance and due to not knowing a person must grind for a year to finally get to grind for the ONE thing he originally wanted to build.
I always thought games were supposed to be a source of enjoyment. It's almost like someone goes out of their way to make players miserable here at times. I love the game over all and some of the new stuff is cool, but what the heck?

I build a settlement, Ishii's Plantation. I figured my system needed food to grow. Makes sense to me.

What doesn't make sense is I do not have LVL 3 access to a settlement I built, in a system I am the architect of.

How does that make any sense?

Not my own feedback, I'm still busy with the CG. But I've seen this mentioned a couple of times already on Reddit, and we're not even out of the first week of Beta. I think it's worth a mention here.

You need to implement a simple mechanic to prevent sniping.
Doesn't really help. Anyone organised enough to be stalking system progress like this a long way from the bubble (and happening to have just the right cargo in-hand to finish the job) presumably has access to a pre-stocked Fleet Carrier.

Pre-loading the full set of necessary materials for a basic outpost will then let them snipe even through this protection in most cases by:
- wait for the system before the penultimate system to be completed
- use that one to create a second colonisation attempt in the same direction as the first, picking a cheap outpost, the moment the system before is chosen to come online
- speed-unload the carrier onto the second system (doable in under an hour with a mid-sized group; a very large group could probably snipe them from a few systems back while they slept)
- use their own new system to launch the colonisation of the ultra-desirable target system

If the original group wasn't expecting this possibility, then they probably get outpaced anyway by someone trying this.
Even if they were and have their own carrier ready to rush the penultimate system, it's a straight race [1] and they've still done almost all the work constructing the tendril, so it was still too close even if they win.

(If the original group was expecting the possibility, but the other group isn't set up to deal with a speed-unload on the penultimate one, the original group doesn't need snipe protection because they just speed-build the penultimate system themselves and claim the final system before the other group even notices they've started on the penultimate one)

[1] Potentially they have a few minutes head start advantage in that the second group won't want to jump its carrier in until they're ready to go, to avoid losing the element of surprise.

What doesn't make sense is I do not have LVL 3 access to a settlement I built, in a system I am the architect of.
The people who built my house don't have level 3 access to it either. Or even level 1.

Once the settlement has been transferred to its operating faction (you did get paid for the materials, remember), the builder's job is done.

Ohh, ok. Granted, I did not try all planets. But most resulted no time slot message.
The no time slot message just means the jump booking system is overloaded by other FC jump orders it has no bearing on whether the destination is allowed or not.

It's like being an investor/developer of office spaces. You then rent them and gain passive income. Yet you don't get an access for their premises as their operate their own business and the fact that you invested money in property doesn't mean that you can walk around freely
