Engineering Rebalancing

It's not just new ships which have been added with Update 18.08, we also have made some major changes to Engineering!

Materials

We’re increasing the number of materials you’re getting across the board from various sources. We’ve increased Material availability at Grade 4/5 farming locations by increasing the number of sources of materials and in some cases payout per source.
In the past, you’d be get between 3-6 fragments of microresources in total per site, but now we’ve increased the number of items to 30-100 microresources.

Mission Rewards

We’ve increased the engineering mats you’ll get across the board from missions. So now depending on the mission or material limit, you could get up to 24 of some materials.

Engineering Blueprints

1) Engineering is no longer random when you spin for the blueprint. If you’re at grade 5 rank with the Engineer, it will be 1 roll for a Grade 1 blueprint, 2 for a Grade 2, and so on. If you’re less than a Grade 5, it will be more spins, but it will no longer be random.

2) We’ve changed the unlock requirements on some blueprints, so you can get to work much quicker.

Odyssey Engineering Changes

The recipes for Odyssey engineering have had their material amounts reduced, combined with getting more rewards for missions and needing to spend less. Another thing that should make it easier is the rebalancing of suit carry capacity, we’ve increased capacity across all suits, with the Maverick suit seeing the biggest upgrade. For a more in depth breakdown please check out the Update notes.

Thargoid War Changes

As we get closer and closer to the potential end of the war, we’re making some adjustments to give you even more Engineering rewards for engaging. Contributing to taking over a Thargoid controlled, or invasion system will now reward engineering materials upon system completion.

All Grade 4 Raw & Grade 5 Encoded/Manufactured engineering materials are eligible as rewards, which you can trade down to whatever materials you need at a material trader. A full break down can be found in our Update Notes.
At Jameson's to collect my Type 8 - nothing here.
Got my P2 on Aug 8th and T8 released then for early access Arx, as above OP.

Can't remember anywhere saying early access is now 4 months before you can buy in game CR's.

I have seen somewhere it is now at end November, but why?
It is already in game code so should be released after 3 months.

Frontier Unlocked confirmed it's coming on 28th November for credits. That's why you're not seeing it at Jameson's Memorial. Your choices are wait, or buy a package.

The why is Fdev says so; was it ever confirmed or defined that all pre-release ships would be released for credits three months after, or is that an assumption made by the community following the Python Mk.II? The same way it was assumed by many that Type-8 for credits would be on "next major patch (Ascendency)" or "next ship release (Mandalay)" despite those being released earlier than three months after the Type-8 ARX release.

The three months started to look like a pattern, but they were never the rule.

Frontier never explicitly said that this would also apply for the Type 8.

Yes, I remember that from Arf's lips too, that's why I went to pick it up - not just out of mere hope.
Anyway, more inclined to get the CobraV as opposed to the Type 8 or even the ManDelay unless that surpasses my long jump DBX, which I suppose it will due to the better SCO handling.

Saying that, I am used to SCO in DBX (and K2) due to visiting Mat dealers leaving my FC wherever it is - just tap SCO Boost and don't try to steer, boost off at about 7 or 6 secs to target and then correct direction and get there just fine after engaging SCA.

In addition to better SCO handling it can outjump the DBX and fit a Fast Fuel scoop so you can travel faster.

SCO in Mandalay is a revelation. You can maneuver even when boosting, real smooth. It does not cook. It'll out jump your DBX and land in the exact same places.

And.. it's not 12 minutes to scoop.

I bought a T8 this morning, used stored modules to outfit it where available, but had to engineer the FSD and thrusters. Just finished the first cargo mission. No problems.

Image shakes like I was rolling down a gobble stone road. Extremely annoying. No other ship has that problem.
I found the T8 to feel remarkably smooth flying, actually. No shake at all under most circumstances. I suspect you encountered a bug or a settings issue. Or accidentally toggled off Flight Assist...
