I freaking love this game, you guys at Frontier have done an amazing job, keep the hits coming. But please change this back to how it was in 1.04

different strokes and all that, but I thought 1.04 was way to forgiving. It was way too easy to game it and let the police duke out a tough fight and just swoop in and kill steal.

not sure what the answer is to be honest. The "easy" solution would be bounty sharing with you getting a percentage payout based on the damage caused to the ship, but that feels a little "gamy" as well imo.

(actually the easiest solution is simply last shot takes all, but then like you are seeing, it means you can have all your "work" nicked). Maybe have a short cut button when you are fighting, that when a ship drops to a set amount of damage (but not right before death) you can local broadcast, "ok guys this target is mine, leave me to it", and then the AI back off, and then have another one, "mayday, mayday, help me out here!" in which case the AI come back, and then if they get the kill then C'est la vie!.

its a tough one.

On the other hand, I've been trying to make it back for three days now. That bug represents three days of lost time to me. Or I should say at least three days of lost time, because I still haven't made back what I lost. :(

Time spent playing the game doing one thing, instead of time spent playing the game doing another thing. Is that really "lost" time? I guess if the only way that you can make money is a play style that you do not enjoy, I can see that that would be annoying. I like it all, though, the trading, rare goods, exploring, missions, fighting (well, running away anyway).

There's the "race to Elite", of course, that would count as lost time, but I don't care about the race.

I'm entirely unsurprised that buying a ship, outfitting it, selling it, then buying it back and outfitting it again would waste a huge amount of money. Maybe there should be a "test mode" in the shipyard, where you can outfit a new ship and see what the cost and performance characteristics would be without driving it out of the showroom. "Can I take it for a test drive?"
 
I felt like this about the original Elite. I once played it for 24 hours on a swingshift (12-on, 12-off; days to nights) and went back into work without any sleep at all. All I did was talk about the game with the others who played it too. One guy even bought a BBC-B just so he could play the game. Those not in the know looked at us funny when we talked about smuggling firearms and drugs:eek:! <sigh>Those were the days.

I wonder if any called the police to report suspicious activity? ;)

But yes, I remember playing the original a lot. These days I expect a lot more from my experience, but for the time, it was engaging.

At the time of release, I was 8 years old. The first time I got to play it, I was 13. I got Frontier within weeks of it being released. I've been waiting for Elite Dangerous ever since, so I dropped a pledge on the Kickstarter as soon as I knew about it.

Here's to FDEV's continued success and to the game's continued development.
 
is possible fixed a bug where too often federal ship while im in dogfight arrived to collide with my ship and so i begame Wanted without my fault, i can understand if my fault i shoot they, but non possible for they fault to be always wanted
 
The "Mission update resets kill count" bug is NOT fixed. I did a pirate hunt (kill 5 pirates in A or B) mission like 2h ago, killed 2 pirates in system A, went to system B. The next USS was the NPC updating my mission contract and AGAIN the counter was reset so I had to kill another 5 pirates.
On top of that it really is a pain in the ... now to have multiple missions as the next USSes tend to be mission updates for every single mission you have. Go to a station, take 4-5 missions and the next 5 USSes will be NPCs updating everything before you can even start to do your first mission.
The whole mission update system is broken, so PLEASE get rid of those updates. If I accept to hunt pirates I WILL hunt them. I don't need anybody to talk me out of this. Just let me kill them and stop annoying me with broken mission updates which just waste my time.
And while I'm at complaining ... for god's sake get rid of that stupid "mission = USS only" crap. If I'm told to kill x pirates in system A it should not matter where I kill them. Let me fly to a Nav Beacon and look for wanted targets. Let me hunt them at extraction sites or just pull wanted targets out of FSD travel. The whole USS - mission system is broken, boring and lazy game design.

I agree with what you say, except there is a flaw in the last part, not all Wanted are pirates.... so how could you identify them? I guess the mission could name them all or maybe we could have the Wanted tag expanded a bit, i.e. when you scan and it says Wanted, you Kill Warrant Scan them and it then says they are Wanted for Piracy or whatever, so that way would work eh?

But yes, I haven't played for a few weeks, i will when they fix this sort of basic stuff as its pretty poor.

Cargo scanners and hatch breakers usually give them away, however even they don't always count. Mercenary kill missions are inconsistent and mostly broken.

Smurfy's MWO Mechlab, for Elite. We already have third party trading tools, so this should not be a problem.

Of course, they *could* be included in-game at a port with a ship yard and outfitting... :)
 
Well, goodness, that's quite a rant. I agree with you though. But I think the whingers and moaners are well and truly in the minority. Those of us that really love this game (I hate calling it a game) are too busy exploring to write much in the forums. I'm only here now because the server is being reset.
I waited for this updated version of Elite for many years and in my opinion it is brilliant. I'm really looking forward to linking it up with some sort of VR platform in the next year or so.

I can't recommend it enough. I'm on a DK2 at the moment and combined with this game and my X52pro and rudders it's just simply the best gaming experience I've ever had and by quite some margin. Honestly in almost every session even after playing for months there is some point at which my jaw just drops and I utter the words, "**** me". I agree that we should all just be a bit more patient and trust Frontier to get things right. Everything about the game says to me that it is a labour of love and that the development team is making the game they want to play too not just for us.
 
So I've lost about 400k in bounties over the last couple of days from kills where I've whittled the enemy down by a massive amount, and the AI has fired a couple of shots and killed my target. This is especially annoying on anacondas that I've spent half my ammo and expendables on.

Why was this taken out of the game only to be put back in??? its driving me crazy and makes attacking Anacondas in resource extraction sites near pointless.

Yeah I have noticed this as well but can't find any mention of it being changed ? Any links to info from FD stating that "last shot = kill" change in 1.05 ????
 
Jealous of you guys...

Ever since this patch, I can't even log into the server. I am still unconnected after 4 days of continuously logging in... Any clue as to what is going on with that?
 
no missions at all at 3 different platforms today, signed out, back to h1z1, meh!

Finding in the fringe systems pand as an example there are 3 mission types ( expensive bounty missions against a named target, donate items personal weapons and food related.) erm and kill system authrotiy vessels ( given by the system authority against themselves)
No black box, military plans or other types do we need to upgrade the system economcally to get these ?
 
too bad bounty are still not fixed. this is becoming pathetic. cant even get the points for killing things.
what the point of playing a game if the monetary value for killing someone broken?

STOP FIXING THINGS THAT DO NOT MATTER FIX THE THINGS THAT KEEP THIS GAME BROKEN.

Crashes to desktop have started quite frequently after the 1.05 patch. There were no any such problems before it. Every time suggesrs to download the crash log to Frontier. Anyone has the same issue?
 
Yeah.. keep crashing to desktop and sometimes no rewards in bounty hunting... and also i'm not able to join my friend in a private group. Please fix these issues

Humpfh, fixed discount at founders world.... Didn't think i'd been given a discount when I bought a secondary ship :(
 
A test drive of a ship would be nice considering how much they cost !!

A more detailed purchase screen for outfitting is what i would prefer.
ie:
how efficient is a class A size 4 shield compared to a class C size 5.
or the difference between an A or B rated KWS

give us the numbers.....
