Phoe, the wording of the CGs is provided by Frontier and we (CG Moderators, mainly Kietrax who actually creates the posts) do our best to make sure it makes sense.

The CG thread is actually clearer than the game - it includes (Mining) in the thread name

And if many players have lot of Credits, why to not give them chance to buy materials? Obviously the value of G5 materials is 400.000 Cr. It would also be useful
for commanders who needs credits to earn something.

In-game, mining is indicated by the 'mining icon' in front of the CG title.

The max that mining should take you is 4 hours. Unless your D2EA and can mine 100 tonnes an hour. I think 4 hours is what the average cmdr takes to mine. It's not hard!

That is incorrect!

Not sure if anyone noticed, but 16 proto radiolic alloys is needed to purchase it, and not proto light alloys.

That makes it ridiculously expensive since you only need at most 7 PRAs for max G5 lighweight.

But then again, it's double engineered and you don't need military supercapacitators which is much harder to get compared to PRA.

The original CG text that Kietrax used to create the OP said Proto Light Alloys, so I presume the in-game text is incorrect; however I have queried it so hopefully should clear this up tomorrow.

Hey Flossy - as you wrote, buying only takes seconds - it's true. But - to earn all this credits, just now I have 29B, by combat, mining, trading, exploration - it takes some time. Not seconds. Is it unfair advantage? I don't think so.

Buying takes the same time, as people ask for money you have to get using what ? exactly: time.
Thats the only currency an online game is hosting: a players game time.

If a developer is able to balance its game you will be able to exchange all kind of "virtual currencies/belongings" to get to the same result - and that would be the often cited "Blaze your own trail"

So you are right, its not stingy, but stinky

Congratulations that is an impressive amount of credits and more than I have made in just under 5 years, unfortunately not everything can be bought with them.

Having an overpowered bank balance in a trading situation is as much an unfair advantage as having an overpowered ship in a fight, but neither are much help here as it isn’t a fight nor is it trading.

That depends on what surplus materials you have available for use at the Material Traders.

Your not told where.. you are told WHAT needs to be mined and then told the progress at the same place...
Where you mine is up to the player...

Total of tons of All items mined for all platforms... is still provided at the bottom of the same page you signed up on..
Mission board > top of mission board > community goal > select the only CG then scroll to bottom of page...

Its up to the player to work out the rest or Read other POSTS in this very topic...

Looks like my ~1000t will be enough to hold on to top 10% but I might do one more run this evening.

hopefully it will reach tier 4.
That means 10 proto radiolic alloys per missile rack - not really bad - it's cheaper than the blueprint for lightweight seekers (no proto light alloys that are used for both g4 and g5 of the blueprint)
