Every Build I Create Has Auto Dock

My 2 cents worth, auto dock and sca both irritated me so much I stopped equipping them and seeing the sca whenever I get a new ship. The auto dock is more likely to fly you into things than you are and sca is stupid, in 3307 an autopilot should be smart enough to not fly into walls or at least be able to navigate around any body that is obscuring your target.
Nothing against any Cmdr that uses them, I just find them extremely aggravating.

Disagree about auto-dock. It very rarely lets me down, and it relieves me of the tedium of docking a Cutter.

When it comes to SCA though you're bang on. So bad it's next to useless.

A docking computer allows for efficiency. I take a trip to the loo and grab a beer usually. I do enjoy FA-off landing though. Especially in the large ships. Takes a light hand on the thrusters and a good sense of momentum.

I love classical music, but wish there was more than just one option. I appreciate the Space Odyssey reference but I've now heard more Blue Danube than any other piece of classical music in my life.

it's just a reference, for fun.
you can play your favorite music during flight, just be careful to omit it from recording it if you plan to youtube it. sound pollution is #1 cause of videos slammed shut early. 😂

Depends on perceived value, possibly? A C1 slot could fit yet another HRP/MRP I guess 🤷‍♂️

See, this is where ED could use a slightly more refined slot-system.

Create a new category of slots (alongside Hardpoints, Utils, Core and Optional) called "Avionics".
It'd be where you bung your sensors and your Planetary Approach Suite and it'd have a number of C1 slots for things like DSS, ADC and SCA.
Ideally, FDev could also come up with some new stuff to bung in there too, such as IFF systems, different classes of weapon targetting systems and, perhaps, some scientific or research doodads.

Some ships would only allow the fitment of basic avionics (only 2 or 3 slots) and some would be more advanced (3 or more slots).
It'd also be a good way of distinguishing currently similar ships.
The Python might only have basic avionics while the Krait has more slots or the Mamba might have a heap of avionics slots while the FdL has fewer.
The result being that, while the Python is more tanky than the Krait, the Krait would be better for some stuff as a result of it's superior avionics and although the FdL is a bit better than the Mamba, the Mamba could be fitted with more combat-related toys.

Ah, you haven't found out the 5-second dip? SCA can greatly reduce your arrival time if you abuse it correctly.

Just so everyone knows: get on SCA approach and when the ETA gets down to 7 seconds, pitch down and back up, aiming to let SCA re-engage with 5 seconds showing. Watch the destination come up terrifyingly fast and SCA drop you at the station with amazing precision. Various weird effects can happen if you overcook it though.

A lot of people still don't know this, but SCA can actually make your trip shorter. Using it only on the last second make you able to drop from SC up to 2c and you can often pop right next to station, and some other time go throught it entirely. I don't think this work as intented though.

Yes, 2c is definitely what I'd call overcooking. :)

Not offended, ofc. I usually sit there and watch things like Galnet or chat with the squad. In VR.

O7,
🙃
I see, it's just weird to me because the number one reason why I love this game is because of the flight model and I like taking every chance to actually fly the ship even after the millionth time docking at the sameish stations.

I have auto-dock even on my explorer ship .. Super-cruise assist too. Why in the world would I give up the comfort? Also if combined correctly with manual override , using auto-dock you can dock in record times (it would take days to master manually). Same with super-cruise assist.. when combined with manual overrides it beats manual only every single time.
