Final roster speculation thread

That's impossible, software development doesn't work like that.
It also ignores the basic math of the development process now with a full team involved. It currently takes, on average 1.5 weeks to make a single animal under the best possible circumstances (assuming the animal pack model divided by how many weeks in a financial quarter). Cut the team down to bare bones because most of them are reassigned to the new game, and suddenly there's not enough people to keep PZ profitable, so why would they keep it running?

Cool idear, but by the format itself its really hard to guess everything, as each pack manages to throw atleast one massive curve ball. If anyone tells me that they expected the quokka, spectacle flying foy, dhamas gazelle, arid exhibit, brown throated sloth and asian water monitor before they happend i bet that they are lying
I expected them. Those very choices, in that order

So, assuming the likely option that support will end sometime in 2024 with the new Planet game, I think we can start having this discussion.

Let's assume the remaining content is:
  1. 2023 anniversary - 1 animal
  2. Dec 2023 - 7 animals
  3. Mar 2024 - 4 animals
  4. Jun 2024 - 7 animals
  5. Sep 2024 - 4 animals
  6. 2024 anniversary - 1 animal
  7. Dec 2024 - 7 animals
Leaving us with 31 habitat animals left. Now, what do you think are these 31 animals?

Place your bets, and we'll follow who gets closest as DLCs are getting released.
This seems fun!
I'll try and will 99% be way off :ROFLMAO: like most of us...
  • American Black Bear
  • Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo, Tanuki, South American Coati, Geoffroy's Spider Monkey, North American Porcupine, Ocelot and Wolverine
  • Serval, Grey-crowned Crane, Gerenuk, Honey Badger
  • Takin, Markhor, Pallas' Cat, Wapiti, Guar, Fishing Cat, Golden Pheasant
  • Great White Pelican, Walrus, Sea Otter, Leopard Seal
  • Spectacled Bear
  • Musk Ox, Nile Crocodile, Mandarin Duck, Azara's Agouti, European Hare, Nilgai, European Bison

I did expect the sloth and that specific species but maybe not for that pack.

The rest yeah. All unexpected choices.

I did expect the three toed sloth, especially after the nine banded armadillo, I expected another gazelle at some point, and suspected another fruit bat might come sometime because Frontier rarely uses their high-effort models only once. And I also suspected a desert pack exhibit due to all the WE suggestions seeming off to me (budgies? seriously?), but I expected it to be a chameleon. The rest were a surprise for me.

Three-toed sloth was definitely going to come. It's recognisable and it was high on the wishlist. The quokka was rather obvious, too; it's the Australian animal with the most meme-value. What I didn't expect was an Oceania Pack, but had I known one was coming I would have expected the quokka.

Had I known it was coming I'd expect a tree kangaroo honestly.
A lot of people did expect the tree kangaroo. Honestly I didn't. One unique rig (the devil) is practically all Frontier can afford these days, it seems. Edit: To clarify, I would never have expected the devil and tree kangaroo in one scenery pack, and everyone should have known it was going to be a scenery pack.

Peafowl is still the most surprising to me, you could make so much landfowl from that and they just haven't.
I've never understood why Frontier is so stingy with habitat birds. I get aviary birds because flight would be very hard for them to do right. Every zoo I've been to has multiple waterfowl species but this game has zero.

This seems fun!

1- 5 More birds (hopefully). Secretary bird, grey crowned crane, rock hopper penguin, another pheasant, and, please please please, a duck.

6 - 9 Two more bears and two more cats. ABB and spectacled, pallas cat and serval or ocelot.

10 - 14 Primates. Maybe I'm being overly hopeful, but I really hope we see one more old world monkey plus a baboon (or baboon adjacent gelada), spider monkey, howler monkey, and squirrel monkey.

15 - 25 Hoofstock. Dwarf goat, takin, markhor, blackbuck, nilgai, musk ox, dikdik, gerenuk, wild boar, peccary

26 - 31 Odd balls. Hyrax, coati, North American porcupine, spurred tortoise, saiga (I'm still holding out hope for a snuffle nose)

After arid s reception I think over 10 more hoofstick is a bit generous. I'd expect like 2 a pack Max. Maybe 3 if we get mountains. And they also don't fit every theme, Oceania as an example.

if it was guaranteed that dlcs for animals would cease, I would at least like to see these few to make it in somewhere, I don't mind where.
