I mean with my Krait Phantom and 55 ly jump range nav comp needed to do some pretty creative solutions to get route in the Abyss...
When you turned you data in... how many 1st discoveries did you have? For each new 1st discovery, a new flight feather is created....soon you will be 1 ugly chick until all your feathers come in. (smiling)Little Chick flight report
I've travelled 2,096.19ly ly from start point
Max jump distance tonight 35Ly
Logged all my discoveries up to this point at Sadr Logistics Depot
Moved on and discovered more unique things
My rank is now Pathfinder
I am now here

Chick out o7
They are very cool. I never saw my first one until I got to Colonia.Which is a station, right?........ inside.......get this........a Rock............how cool is that
No need to plunge straight through the abyss. You can always cross the gap between arms earlier and have a bit more curved route.Well I have to say this, unless you have engineered FSD in your Cobra getting to Beagle can be quite a problem. The Abyss is really an Abyss and without enough jump capability it is quite hard to navigate.
35lyWhat is your jump range?
I had 1 complete system, 9 bodies mapped, lots of other single planetsWhen you turned you data in... how many 1st discoveries did you have? For each new 1st discovery, a new flight feather is created....soon you will be 1 ugly chick until all your feathers come in. (smiling)
Where exactly is the abyss ?No need to plunge straight through the abyss. You can always cross the gap between arms earlier and have a bit more curved route.
In this context I think it is the sparse region right south of Beagle Point, between galactic arms.Where exactly is the abyss ?
At the other side of Galaxy, far-side rim. Star density drops out rather dramatically. I'm not saying that trip to Beagle with 35 ly jump range is undoable. One can do it, but needs rather carefull route planning. Most likely manually.Where exactly is the abyss ?
the feathers are an allegory.... as you get more and more first discoveries.... your :feathers will come in... no longer are you a flightless chick like a week ago but a young explorer coming into your dues.... as you report the discoveries, the chick gets more feathers.I had 1 complete system, 9 bodies mapped, lots of other single planets
Where do I find the feathers on screen ?
I'd have to check my vids (which I'm not gonna do!) but I think I saw my first asteroid base as I prepared for my trip to Colonia. They are indeed very cool. Probably my favourite type of station. Even if it's just for the aesthetic value. They are very cool. I never saw my first one until I got to Colonia.
I carry an additional fuel tank, this means I can push the fuel a bit.As for Yah-ta-hey's* comment regarding fuel stars etc., I tend to wait until my ship has enough fuel left for one decent jump, charge the FSD, and check the upper right panel to see if the next star might be scoopable. If it's a brown dwarf, ABORT ABORT ABORT!
