It might have helped if we could have tested owning a FC for more than the 1 week (those of us not blessed with 5 billion credit bank balances)
More of these issues may have shown up.
I've not had any real problems myself, so rest of game seems to be working pretty much as before.
I agree @Ace Rodrigo. What a shame. Yes, Elite Dangerous is just a game and there are plenty of others we can play in our leisure time.If I was your boss at Frontier, whoever is in charge of Elite Dangerous would be looking for a new job,,,,,You're FIRED. This is such a mess, I am suspending playing ED until it is fixed and then I really don't know. I am angry and extremely frustrated.
I had this happen to me, too..My carrier just left me behind even though I was docked on it. I set it to jump and it went through the motions, but after completion I was still in the same system, I checked the gal map and it was also at the destination existing in two places at the same time. I undocked from it and then requested docking at which the game crashed. on restart the carrier was gone and I had to fly to the destination to catch it up
Agree with this. When they used to run Betas before, they drastically reduced the in-game prices. Yeah I know they had the Beta Blowout at the end of FC Beta 2, but keeping them at the CR5bn price at all other times really limited the testing that folk could do - hence we are where we are.
But for Frontier, this is a business. Botched updates has become normal "to be expected" practice for them, despite Beta test sessions. The main issue is no longer this "Fleet Carrier Update" but in-house management processes, staff programming competence, quality assurance procedure and company reputation in the marketplace as a game developer.
Tried now to leave Station - no effect
Leaving and reentering System: no effect
Disconnecting account and System: no effect
Switched language to english and back: no effect
I am frustrated now - will call it a day and hope, it works tomorrow again...
I won't be buying Odyssey at all after this fiasco. I was very keen to buy a FC after putting in a lot of time to have plenty of overhead after buying one but have deferred. I'll be waiting a lot longer than 2 weeks before I buy one if at all.......
Honestly: I won't buy Odyssey in the first round - I will wait at least 2 weeks and have a close look on the issue tracker and this forum.
Cheers

I am totally sure it will be another bugfest. One bug in Odyssey is already there: Missing VR Support!I agree @Ace Rodrigo. What a shame. Yes, Elite Dangerous is just a game and there are plenty of others we can play in our leisure time.

With Elite Dangerous "Odyssey" on the horizon in 2021, what can we expect now? A great game, or another bug fest episode like this?
