I just wish Frontier would grow a spine.
The CG was published clearly offering the FSD to the top 25% of participants. Everyone who participated joined up knowing this, knowing that if they didn't make the top 25% they would miss out.
I logged in on the weekend, looked at the cargo levels required for the top 25% and made the considered judgement that I would not be able to reach those levels with the playtime I had available. Therefore, I decided not to participate. It was a long way out of my way and I had limited free time. That was my decision. I own it totally. It was made in the knowledge that I needed to be in the top 25%.
Now Frontier have changed the rules. They changed the rules after the fact, after the CG had finished, after there was no way to do anything about it. This is just completely wrong and pathetic.
At least those who would have missed out at 25% knew they had played by the rules, and had been fairly beaten by other players who had put in more effort than them. Some might have been annoyed that they just missed out, but they missed out fair and square.
Now Frontier have annoyed those players, including myself, who took Frontier at their word, believed the "top 25%" as published, and made a decision. To get into the top 75% would have been just two trips in my Cutter. I could have done more. I strongly believe I could have made the top 75% over the weekend if I had known that was what the threshold was.
What Frontier have done is worse than doing nothing. Very much worse. They have essentially lied to their players. Prior to Frontier making this change I was happy with my decision to miss out. I would have liked the fancy FSD, but I was at peace with my decision not to try. Now I am angry, disappointed, and frustrated. Now, when Frontier say one thing, I will always be thinking to myself - can I believe them - can they be trusted? Right now, the answer is no.
