Agreed. It's a shame because the devs probably gave up reading 30 pages back...Looks like this thread is descending into a wish list of changes which are not actually up for consideration presumably followed by a subsequent thread creating merry hell that the changes actually applied are not what the players wanted.
Except if you mitigate interdiction, how will features like Powerplay work, or PvE piracy? Right now there are precious few places for NPC interaction in a basic A>B flight (no NAV, drop zones too small for NPCs). Remove SC too and you'll make it even duller- SC needs more things in it, like shipping lanes are but with consequences (such as proximity based security, 'no go' zones) so that SC agility actually becomes important.

You do realise that some of us have live savings in the bank. People worked their butts to get what they have and your idea is to destroy that in one go?? Fantastic! You must be fun at parties - if you have any friends that would invite you that is...
FDRight. You'd just have to distribute your savings across multiple banks, or there would be other suitable ways to make sure that not all your belongings are lost when catastrophies happen.
I was told that carriers are invincible. Seriously? It's one of the things that need to be changed ...
And what about our own stations? I want to have my own system and my station in it, at least one ... If some catastrophy happens, like Thargoids wiping it out, well, if mining was finally automated, I'd just have to set up some automated mining operations at multiple places. If one blows, up, I'd set up another one, and at the end of the day, I won't need to worry about my life savings because it's more money than I could spend anyway.
Is there anything in place that would allow us to do that?? If not I am afraid it will never happen...Right. You'd just have to distribute your savings across multiple banks
What you talking about is rubbish. You talking about a destruction of CMDRs carriers in one simple step... There is no word to describe people like you worth repeating here... Are you also a someone hunting down defenceless Sidewinders??

"Right guys, we're going to be adjusting a few of the commodity prices over the next few days, not all of them, mainly just the mining commodities. Any thoughts?"

"Ok, I want destructible fleet carriers, multiple bank accounts, thargoids blowing everything up, automated mining, my own station with my name on the front and a partridge in a pear tree if that's not too much trouble"

If you don't try to Wing and actually play with another ship you can actually see, you will never know that PG is broken because the MAIN MENU will say that you are in PG. The other player/account will also show as PG in the MAIN MENU but when you check the COMM panels you see things like:Oh.
OK, I was curious as I play in Private Groups all the time and experience no problems but I rarely try to wing up with anyone as most of my activities don’t suit winged play.
The alternative was silently reporting you for being woefully off topic. It's not helpful to pretend that I said things I didn't say. Please read more carefully and understand first, maybe after a while you took to cool down.
No I am saying that getting the big ship gave the player the bad experience. If they had stuck to a smaller ship for a start they could have won the interdiction mini game and escaped. Even experienced players will drop out in a T9 as it handles like a brick. That gets compounded by not having the experience of how to outfit the T9 to survive a pirate encounter or what to do to escape once you submit. Further exacerbated by the high rebuy cost of the T9 and the greater cost of the cargo loss. None of that is a problem with a smaller ship. I survived my first NPC interdiction in a Cobra by winning the mini game. The times I did lose the ship bounty hunting or whatever the rebuy cost easily recouped with a single courier mission. Consequently I had a much more enjoyable experience of the early days in ED.
I believe the idea was that Frontier is attempting to create more balance between different activities to better reflect the relative skill and risks involved in each respective activity. Now you want to force players to somehow learn how to successfully play ED, and in order to do that, you want to limit their income so that they can't get bigger ships. Well, that isn't gona work.
Nope, looks like that balancing is only going to affect income... It will not change anything within the game and will not add anything, just tweaks in the pricing of commodities/activities...I believe the idea was that Frontier is attempting to create more balance between different activities to better reflect the relative skill and risks involved in each respective activity.
You get whatever size ship you want, no one's going to judge you for it ;-)
Yea that's what I meant. Its the credit rewards amounts for the various activities which will change, nothing else.Nope, looks like that balancing is only going to affect income... I'm probably repeating what others have said, but how are these balance changes relevant when the pulse wave is broken? Seems like this nerfed the only viable means to mine, while leaving the most profitable broken?
I think if this was responding to feedback then you wouldn't start with a mining nerf, you'd:
1. Increase the other areas before touching mining (to bring them into balance, not preemptively bring mining into balance)
2. Fix the pulse wave
3. Balance mining to the new balancing
