It already has been. How about Space Hulk. Warhammer 40k setting is a winner and the original on PC and Amiga was pretty good if very tough. Great atmosphere and quite true to the board game without being just a computerised board game. I'm not aware of any other game that used the freeze time mechanic, it was tense.
Beach Head
Raid Over Moscow
Two fantastic Acess software titles on the C64. There have been retro remakes of these sure...
Also the grand daddy next to elite is
--------> MERCENARY <----------
You can get Mercenary ported to PC, in fact all three freely from
http://mercenarysite.free.fr/mddclone.htm
That would be a fantastic remake.
Two more ones I'd like that I'm sure no one else would are
-The Secret of Bastow Manor
-The Castles of Doctor Creep
Zeewolf one of the best games on the Miggy.![]()
That version is a clean adaption of the board game and not what MacArthur was talking about. The current version on Steam is a very faithful adaption of the board game and is presented in an isometric view.
MacArthur was actually referring to the version that was initially released on 3DO and later on PC, Saturn and the Playstation. It was called "Space Hulk Vengeance of the Blood Angels" and was a tactical first person squad based shooter.
I too would love to see a remake for it was an incredible atmospheric game with a lot of depth in strategy.
One can play an emulated version on 4DO which is a 3DO emulator for the PC.

Once installed just dig around online for a 3DO bios file for 4DO as well as the rom for Space Hulk: Vengeance of the Blood Angels. The emulator is flawless.
Here is what Space Hulk Vengeance of the Blood Angels looked like...

When the game is paused there is a limited pause countdown before the game returns to real time. This feature introduced a lot of tension as players had to think quickly on the fly as they gave orders to their squad.
I would love to see it remade. It was a ground breaking yet pretty unknown title.
Goodness I've never seen this.
Yeah! zeewolf is fantastic, heavily inspired if I'm not mistaken by Virus/Zarch by the little known Saint David of Braben.![]()
Zeewolf one of the best games on the Miggy.![]()
The original was hard as nails. It took me and my mate weeks to learn to pilot properly. We eventually got so good we could play on beyond the limits of the game. The Blitz version I linked is very faithful to the original and I have lost all my old skillz.Yes there has been a few re-makes of Virus including another one on the Miggy called Hyperion. They are all hard as nails though and need plenty of practice to get the best out of them.
