Any fixes for the broken npc interdictions? The invisible attacks are really becoming irritating as is the new bug affecting the escape vector. This one thing is really making the game feel like a cheap arcade game. :(

Not so sure about this yet. Haven't seen any fixes for the game killer bugs like the stuttering. Assume these are either 1. real hard to fix, or 2. we will have to live with them.

Nahh I'll not be living with it, if things don't start improving rapidly (after launch) I will uninstall and put it down to experience and not buy any DLC and just go back to playing Freelancer until SC is released. If this game launches as is it will be a laghing stock with the majority.

Reviewers are accommodating now but after release that will change.

Yet, about 15 of my tickets still have the status set to "New". :S

Probably because they have a backlog, having only released Alpha a few days ago. In spite of which they have already released three patches. I imagine they have a huge list of bugs that already know about, and are prioritising crash bugs (which is what you should do).

Someone needs to make a documentary about how video games are made, to help customers understand what's involved.

I am actually quite impressed with their approach, it's tricky providing frequent updates, because every change you make to a game carries risk. When they send out a new build and update the servers, it's a massive task and you have to be careful because you can bring the whole game down. So, frequent updates, while being obviously great to see and a good strategy, also are quite complex to damage. Not to mention that you have to keep extensive backups in case a server bug wipes everyone's data.

I think patience is the thing to have here.

Good afternoon/evening/morning depending on where and/or where you're reading this,

Gamma 1.03 is on its way - the build should be available from 15:30 GMT. Keep the tickets and reports coming in as all of your feedback is incredibly important. Thanks so much for every bit of input you've provided so far.

The full change log can be seen below:

- Crash following dropping out of Supercruise at Aulin Nav Beacon fixed
- Fix for travel tutorial getting stuck in hyperspace
- Fix occasional crash at startup related to upnp
- Fix for model crashes in D3D
- Fix crash in targeting system
- Fix for rare scaleform crashes
- Fix for faction data crash in Fawaol system
- Fixed possible crash if you happen to shut down a ship on the same frame as it fires a drone
- Handle null pointer in star texture particles
- Fix decal trails threading issue
- Don't include systems we are not permitted to enter in the route planning
- Player reported bounty vouchers never show up in the transactions tab fixed
- Fix an erroneous loadout appearing at USSs
- Server optimisation to use cached star system names
- Fix the false-positive user vanish reports from server to webserver
- Fix Venus atmosphere thickness
- Make sure micro rocks are locked and written into buffer before trying to draw them
- Fix for rocks mission when entering and leaving the rings in the single player missions
- Gas giant and rocky info was also using the boolean operation to mask flags
- Add mission abandonment telemetry for tracking down cargo ejection failures
- Append what kind of mission player event triggered a mission update request to the request
- More telemetry added for items not loading

Thank you.

No fix for the low volume ships voice many people are experiencing then?

Can you let us know (which I'm sure you will) when the server changes are expected to go live, as 1.03 itself hasn't fixed the CTD on universal cartography (as you expected).

TIA

I second this.
At the moment it doesn´t make to much sense for me to get back into game while the Stallar Cartography crash still is around.
Therefore it would be very helpful to know when the serverside patch that is supposed to fix it has been installed

Where is the fix for the evidently 800 million plus pirates causing 2 to 4 interdictions per trip in almost every system you jump to. Please do not get me wrong, I
find it adding to the immersion. But but come on every trip, 2 to 4 interdictions makes ED seem like someone is not counting their ratio percentages correctly
with the vastness of space.

Getting interdicted 1(once) out of every 3 to 4 trips is more believeable.

Making sure the features present are bug free before adding more is a bad thing? I think you are missing the point old boy.

Missing the point? You mean missing the key features for a game like this that look like they wont even make it to launch? Are you saying this is a good thing? Yeah, that wont make the legit reviewers and majority of gamers just laugh and point lol

Gamma 1.03 is on its way

There should be a server side change to stop this issue later today.

Thanks for the updates, the game is getting better all the time.

I made a list of all bugs that have been reported in the gamma bugs thread. http://nipl.net/ed

All of the following have been confirmed by multiple people or by strong evidence. There are many other unconfirmed bugs.

Here are the "severity 5" bugs, I edited the text a little for here. It would be very bad for any of these bugs to be present at release, I would say they are "shop stoppers".

- mission: Cannot complete stolen goods delivery, "give cargo" button is enabled only if goods are NOT stolen. But in that case, it says "failed to perform mission transaction".
- transactions of all kinds are not reliable when servers fail - e.g. ...tried to buy a whole bunch of auto-fabricators in Wise 350-... Disconnected as i clicked the submit button. Well, the money is gone, but still no auto-fabricators in my cargo hold
- mission: Server disconnect after starting a mission. When I got back in, mission was gone but cargo remains in hold which cannot be sold, even on Black Market.
- crash: at start for some people; "Since update to Gamma 1.01 unable to play game" "I tried this (disable UPNP) but still get exactly the same problem"
- all mission transations disappeared. Can't get rid of cargo, because can't cancel missions.
- game servers (etc) are unable to cope with demand at peak times. "when everyone in Europe starts playing it's a nightmare. Release day ... it's like a trainwreck that you see coming from miles away but that you can do nothing about. I'm very worried"
- Found a credit exploit wich allowed me to create unlimeted funds. made 1.6 mill creds in a few minutes (possibly fixed?)
- the bug ticketing system is inadequate, far inferior to existing systems such as bugzilla. duplicate bug reports unavoidable. unresolved tickets have been closed with generic messages
- commodity market "exports to", "imports from", planet descriptions, system view "exports" and "imports", galaxy map trade routes are not always correct and consistent
- multiplayer still broken. I am unable to see any of my friends in private group (and only occasionally, for maybe 30 seconds, in open play). Impossible to have fun with friends....We simply CANNOT meet. We are trying and trying again, without any success.
- extreme stuttering / freezing for some players - I havn't been able to play/test ED for a long time now, every patch I hope that they will sort out the horrid stutter and freezes. (on high perf. PC)

And here are the "severity 4" bugs. These are serious bugs which should be fixed before release if possible.

- many and various crashes
- Client hangs on black screen with Gamma 1.00. bottom left corner after save and exit. still hangs an exit in g 1.02
- Audio is messed up in gamma, was fine last night in 3.91. Now much of the sfx and music is now crackling and very low volume.
- hang: stuck in hyperspace (possibly related to server load, but any hang without further info is bad)
- crash: Still getting occasional crashing when choosing outfitting after landing. The ship lowers into the docking bay and then crash
- serious relocation and tracking lag that has put me into a station and hit by other ships even though I have stopped power to the engines
- mission, branching: - Multi option missions - Mission where i must find X materials X and deliver it in 2 different stations (at choice) - Impossible to give cargo in the 2, one have no give cargo option, one don't want validate the give option
- very hard to find FSD / PP upgrades. Gone through many industrial & hi-tech systems with high population and none of them have had any FSD or PP.
- Lost my cargo mission (plenty of time was left); Had 4hr BB mission to deliver Auto Fabricators, did it in about an hour, when I got to destination, no delivery BB message, looked at Transactions and said I'd failed the delivery...
- Commodities page shows Exported on items it wants and Imported on items it sells when comparing to other systems - Think they be round the wrong way
- jerky stations: One station would randomly shift about 90 degrees as I approached it, was coming at it from the side, then I was suddenly facing the docking port
- cannot accept any missions in certain station/s: "Failed to perform mission transaction"; Sometimes the game ends up in a state where requesting missions fails to connect to the server even though gameplay is otherwise fine.
- accumulating fines for no reason at all. Worst is, I cannot pay these fines!
- lost all credits. Docked at a station with 30k, accepted a mission and then boom, penniless; (another person similar) Yup, but I got the credits back after handing in the mission.
- crash coming out out of supercruise: Crashed about 3 times in the last hour or so. Where: Fawaol, Imperial system Doing what: Coming out of supercruise to the Sutter station or Coliseum station.
- crash / sell explore data (large amounts) - Since about 1 hour the client constantly crashes if I access the universal cartographic
- missile racks / ammo - I have both but it always tells me I am out of ammo... Swapping the hardpoint seems to have cleared the issue.
- crash to desktop at start, in fullscreen mode - Cannot play anymore after Gamma 1.01 update. Opens to full screen but fails immediately to desktop. Changed manually display settings from full screen to windowed. At least now it works
- cargo changed from one type to another
- "$15 chrome paint job barely looks any different from the standard Viper, except for removing the stripes. Certainly, its nothing like chrome. It would just barely satisfy calling it a rough textured medium grey... asbestos!
- cargo hatches not breaking anymore since 3.01 introduced bug (programmer came to thread, said they´ll fix it fast... .............)
- Multiplayer: we do need a lot in here, "communication" "email" "group research" "faction creation" "friend's on the map" "group missions"
- Credit balancing: the only decent way to make credits is to trade, sadly the bounty hunting and exploration are only here for fun
- broken game state - Yesterday, I attempted to abandon a mission multiple times due to a bug described at https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=63906 ; crashed and game no longer will start properly

There are a total of 415 bugs and unconfirmed reports listed in that spreadsheet, with many other important bugs. I have listed only those I consider to be the worst.

Anyway, this is my opinion of what are the worst remaining bugs. I hope it can help.

the Stellar Cartography Crash to desktop............a fix coming soon sweet. well done devs keep up the good work

Thanks again to Michael & the whole team for the continued improvements.

Michael, just one thing - could you please confirm that the out of balance audio (in particular the very quiet ship voice) is on your to do list, it is not on the known bug list.

Hi Godslayer, just curious, are you taking active steps to avoid interdictions ie taking an elongated route to stations?

Since I started doing this I find the interdictions are reduced to about once every 3 to 4 trips.
