Guardian fsd booster

Just got back from gnosis and upgraded from a DBX to an AspX and started engineering my fsd. I want to go get a guardian fsd booster but when it comes to all that stuff I’m lost. I have the wikia app for elite dangerous but that doesn’t tell me what materials I need or how to get them. So what materials do I need and how do I get them? I’m sure it’s probably really simple I just don’t know

Look for a guardian tech broker in High tech systems (or use inara)
That'll tell you what you need.
Then you need to fly out to guardian space some 700ly "east" of sol
(Use civilization map filter)

Then land at a guardian site, and do the puzzle, hoping you landed at a base that gives out module blueprints not weapon blueprints. Then scan and gather all the other guardians gubbins you need, hen RTB and gather the rest from the bubble.

Done!

Took me less an hour or so, not including travel (because I'd decided to take my battleconda to guardian space and it took yonks).

CMDR Cosmic Spacehead

Get to the grinding:

1x Guardian Module Blueprint Segment
21x Guardian Power Cell
21x Guardian Technology Component
24x Focus Crystals
8x HN Shock Mount

I wouldn't call it grind. Not for one blueprint. Lol

I did 4 runs (1 module, 3 weapons). It was fun. Slightly confusing. But fun.

Following an A-B-C-Repeat guide is what makes it kinda boring and grindy.

Nice. I'm actually tempted to have a go at this now.[yesnod][up]

Go on, give him a link to your Guardian travelogue! If he can't follow your four part guide, he doesn't deserve the module.

Just going for the booster isn't all that bad. Just remember that every panel gives you stuff. You will collect enough for the booster in a little time.

Now, fighters or anything that requires those epsilon data things or the sentinel weapon parts might take a bit longer.

There is a normal guardian site (that gives module blueprint ) that is actually on a fairly flat area of the planet which makes it easier to land a larger ship at. Sadly, I don't remember where it was.

I was worried after reading how 'grindy' this would be, but to be honest if you're just looking for the FSD booster, you'd do this in an hour or so, and it's a nice change of pace.

Basically you fly to one of the guardian sites, then:

Get to the grinding:

1x Guardian Module Blueprint Segment - You get this by shooting several pillars that pop up, and when all 6 are thus activated, a big 'ball' appears which you scan.
21x Guardian Power Cell - Collect these from shooting sentinels(?) and destructible panels in the walls.
21x Guardian Technology Component - Collect these from shooting sentinels(?) and destructible panels in the walls.
24x Focus Crystals - Common material, use a Materials trader if you don't have enough already.
8x HN Shock Mount - Commodity, can be bought.

The combat wasn't bad, at one point 4 sentinels spawned at once for me, but there's so much cover to hide behind you can just snipe at them one by one. The hardest part is probably finding the 6 pillars, given there's a time-limit.

The upside is once you do that puzzle and kill 12-15 guardian drones there, you can buy as many boosters as you want :) I was afraid I'd ned to do this for every ship I wanted to equip with a booster.

Shoot anything that glows that's not sitting on the ground, otherwise scoop it.

You very quickly gather mats .... the numbers are not that high really because (if I remember correctly) each mat scooped is worth 3 in the hold.

There's a lot of tales about "grind" but it's not really. Just enjoy the experience. The 'atmosphere' of the sites and music is amazing.

Ok, I see I need 1 module blueprint segment which I get from scanning obelisks(?) And 21 power cells and technology component which are collected from killing sentinels(?) and focus crystals are from bounty hunting and HN Shock Mounts can be bought in the commodity market. Is all of the above correct?

No. There is a Guardian structure puzzle for the blueprint.

Yes, but the 'obelisk' is an orb you scan after shooting all pylons. You can also trade for focus crystals. As you get '3 for 1', you only need to find seven chunks of the guardian stuff. Make sure you go to a module ruin, there are lists if you are not sure. If you shoot everything and fully explore the ruins one run should be enough, no need to grind.
