Guardian fsd booster

Is the relic for getting the module blueprint? And where do I get that?

In addition to what was said, you can take your time and drive around the site if you don't charge the pylons.
Pick up all the mats you can find first, kill all the sentinels that pop up and figure out where everything is.
There are other cargo items but just pick up relics.

You'll have to charge up the first couple of pylons before the rest will appear, but they give you lots of time.
Kill the sentinels and use the free camera if you can't find the next pylon.

Incorrect.

The notional process I follow is:-
  1. Locate the site data centre (where the orb to be scanned will appear)
  2. Drive close to one of the nearest "Pylon" triangles and that Pylon should surface
  3. Locate the other 5 pylon triangles dotted around the site (there is a notional pattern to the pylon layouts that vary based on the site design) and drive near them to get them to surface
  4. Pick an order to activate them and then charge the pylons (shoot the centre of the exposed triangle until the tower bongs and a pillar of light rises into the sky) in that order
  5. (Module/Weapon Blueprint Sites Only) Locate one of the Relic towers and shoot the top a few times to free the relic then collect it
  6. (Module/Weapon Blueprint Sites Only) Locate the pillar of light rising out of the floor near the front of the site data centre and eject the collected relic
  7. Scan the orb to get one instance of the blueprint available from that site

I have found Guardians sentinels will typically popup in the following circumstances:-
  • Pylon or Relic Tower rising out of the ground (typically one or two sentinels at a time)
  • Activating the pylons (typically two surface when all six have been activated)
  • Completing the scan of the data centre orb (typically two surface when this has been completed)
  • (Occasionally - site dependent) Passing some apparently random point on the site

Guardian material drops are available from the following sources:-
  • Sentinel Wreckage (Left after destroying a guardian sentinel)
    • 1 to 3 random Guardian Material drops (3 qty per drop)
    • Guardian Sentinel Weapon Parts and Guardian Wreckage Components are exclusive to sentinel wreckage
  • Destructible Panels
    • 1 random Guardian Material drop (3 qty per drop) from the following:-
      • Guardian Power Cells
      • Guardian Power Conduit
      • Guardian Technology Component

Guardian data drops are the most painful to get hold of IMO - Pattern (Alpha/Beta/Gamma/Delta/Epsilon) Obelisk Data - and are seemingly random in their availability. Scan the active Obelisks to get these (3 qty per scan).

I did this when the sites first came in the game but, having reset a coupe of times since was hesitant to do it again as I’m a terrible driver! In the end I bit the bulletin and managed to get my booster. It was fine but I kept getting stuck and flipped over - I really suck in the srv!

The sentinels are fairly lightweight but the whole scene is kinda creepy! Def don’t recommend if you’ve been at the onionhead first!

DBX c/w PDT landed in the middle of the site means no Sentinel missile attacks. ;)

Dumb question: once you have the guardian fsd booster, do you then have to upgrade it? I mean, does it start at Class 1 (4 ly inc) and then you have to upgrade it thru Class 2, 3, 4 and 5 to get the 10 LY boost? And if so, how do you upgrade it? (I'm new to engineering and to Horizons in general). Thanks!

Nope, just install it

The beauty is, you can fit any grade in any ship of your choosing from the time you fit the first one. So it's well worth doing. Same with the shield booster.
