Yeah, I've had quite a few circles that filled the whole radar on max zoom-out...
...If the radius of the circle wasn't so big (is it huge all of a sudden or just me?) then this would make sense, then you need to search hard in your ship or just get in the SRV and use the wave scanner. However, the circles are so large that when you descend to spy it out, you loose your bearing and have no clue where the center of the POI circle is...

Please tell me the transparent ships have been fixed. Guess I will find out in half an hour or so
Don't like being able to see through solid metal!

Useless wings stay useless, can we get some hardcore wings missions that will make cooperation worth it? Like mission progression that some guy suggested?
1st part soloable
2nd part soloable
3rd part 2 players required or one true elite pilot (skill not just rank)
4th part 3 players
5th part full wing of awesomeness with waves of enemies
Even tutorial had better missions than real open play.
How one can do that? If I press left button on keyboard it just moves to the edge until its left to the star and then it stops. The same issue is in Galaxy Map - left button only moves the camera.

Another issues I keep having sometimes is that the wave scanner goes all "I don't wanna draw the signatures anymore, I'll just ping them out" as in the acoustical signatures stay as they were but the drawn graph is blank.
Often I get something that draws a line across half of the graph, I turn 2 degree and bam, no signatures on the graph at all anymore, 2 degree back and it's all fine again.
If you're talking about eyeballing POIs, I think we all agree on these twoFD here is what I believe players require for POI on planets:
1, Visible wrecks and buildings and anything of interest visible from the ship
2, No restriction on height (although you can't see small wreaks from lets say orbit) as already mentioned.
3, Update ship scanner to PIN POINT POI (as all players i'm sure don't want to spend 30 mins looking for items.
4, Cargo canisters retrievable from your ship instead of using SRV (it's giving the player an option to land or not there will always be players that will and some who are just passing by)
5, MUCH bigger wreck sites lets face it the sites cmdrs are finding are tiny and in alot of cases and has been mentioned not worth the trouble profit wise as well as visually eye candy I have submitted to Zac the proposal for Huge wreck sites both in space and planet side so we can really get in amongst the action and spend some quality time in the debris.
6, FAr FAr better rewards at wreck sites clothing and coffee are just not worth the find lets up that with some rares, or may 10+ canisters ! something that will start drawing players to look about more.
Which is silly, the corvette actually has more mass than the FSDs optimal output when loaded down. It's also a long range suppression ship that is balanced in jumprange like the short range patrol ships such as the viper. No change there either.
Michael
Its a space ship game , I don't think the dev's should be forcing us to use the srv if we don't want to , especially not for the initial scout of the POI location. Yes use the srv then if you want to acess/defeat it but not just to locate it.SNIP.
Nope! Easy mode, press 'Y' to open chest, and it will bypass any SRV-specific hazards/defences, so many people won't bother with SRVs.

Still no fix for the data scanner only working when having "firing enables hardpoints" enabled?
(It wasn't fixed in the Beta 4 either. Tried it out yesterday.)
I really would like to disable it again when i'm playing with my main commander.
It's no fun at all paying 7m cr. for a new python because you accidentally hit the fire button inside a station...
Also what is with the strange behavior of the buggy not going forward when rolling backwards somtimes until you full stops
and then throttle back to zero and than forth again with the hotas throtle? I'ts totally annoying.
I am extremely disappointed to see Frontier treat us like idiots. 'Yes, we've listened to the big outcry and the overwhelming poll and fixed POIs'. A few days later, what do they do, sneak 'invisible' POIs back in the midst of a load of technical fixes, in the hope we won't notice.
This is not what I expected of you Mr Braben & co, please listen to the players (payers).

Nearly all my friends have XBoxAnd I would recruit my friends to play the game, and we would be doing missions all the time... Wauw. Already feeling the multiplayer experience!
Jeez, you guys really dig in on bad decisions don't you.
Thx for partially reversing the decision on POI being visible from the ship as well.
Tsk tsk tsk!
Just skimming though these, and without singling anyone out, these are the kinds of posts that FD have to say "we're so grateful that our players are so passionate about ED.. yadda yadda" though gritted teeth, secretly thinking, "my god what a bunch of whiners, look at how much effort we're putting in and people are still moaning and telling us what a terrible job we're doing.."
Sure constructive criticism is great, but why is so much of it so rude? embarrassing.
I know. It's painful to read. And there was I really enjoying the Beta...
Yeah, don't worry too much, I think they're big boys and girls. I think devs understand, and likely also agree, it's better to have a passionate fanbase who pushes them to make ED all it can be. Much rather that, than "meh, don't think I'll bother".
I AM enjoying the beta .. very much. Doesn't mean there aren't a few little nigglies here and there though so better out, than in .. though there's no harm in being polite, or qualifying any criticism with a big "well done" too. +1
