If I could only fly one ship, it would be the . . .

Python hands down - feels like home.

This and your description there is absolutely spot on - even after some rationalisation of my fleet I have over 20 ships on my main, from an 800m/s+ Imperial Eagle to a 1.5 billion fully engineered Cutter and in anything other than one of my Pythons, I feel like I'm borrowing it.

It would have to be the Alliance Chieftain. It does everything well. It flies great. It hits hard. It'll land anywhere. I have felt right from the start, that FD designed the aChief just for me. So, I guess I should say: You're welcome.

...

oooh, you stir up fond old memories! i still must have that thing parked somewhere, will check next time i log on.
I like the look and feel of the DbS as well, but I took one to Sgr A and back in 2015/3301 and had my fill of the ship back then. Got a lot of good practice fuel scooping...

I'm going to be honest, if I can only have one ship, it'll be my Anaconda.
I've had the same hull, called either Idamo or GoldenMember (paintjob dependant), since the Xbox GPP back in 2015.

A short list of accomplishments are:
Singlehandedly gave me my triple Elite status.
Earned over a billion credits through NPC genocide vouchers before the combat payment rework. It's now close to 2 billion.
A round trip to Colonia in its 23.6ly combat outfit when the first CGs were happening out there. I got there, did one CG set and came back because I hated it. #BubbleGang4Lyfe.
Landed on Achenar 3, both with me flying and my NPC pilot flipping around for roughly 17 minutes straight. RIP Mr. L. Fitzpatrick, you were a terrific pilot and only slightly crippled by your Onionhead addiction.
But most importantly taught me a valuable lesson in the art of the brave Sir Robin maneuver and screw the costs, have good defences, when I was attacked by a wing of players and my shields and hull were stripped down to 23% in the few seconds it took my FSD to supercruise out. Haven't come close to being ganked since.

Even now, it's still my most used ship and would remain so, magic hull mass or not.

to make credits in the bubble: Cutter
to serve your squadron in Colonia: Python
to steal and smuggle from the rich: Clipper
to travel, explore and research: Phantom
to kill and destroy: Corvette

to do everything: Asp X

Lots of opinions here.

There’s no right or wrong, but if you haven’t said Python or Krait Mk II then you’re wrong 😁

Personally I’d take the extra slot over the option of a SLF and more manoeuvrability, but I would not argue against anyone who said the Krait.

My jack-of-all-trades utility ship is this Python

It can pretty much go anywhere and do anything

Only one ship?
Then it would have to be my 'Conda.
Don't do pewpew, so wouldn't need a SLF Bay, my current Explorominerconda has 126T capacity for Mining, a decent 50LY Jump range & carries a SRV bay for Planet roving.
Flies like a canal barge, but you don't need a Quick turning Ship when you're not fighting anyone.
Just beats my Cutter on jump range by 10LYs.

Only one ship? Probably my Anaconda, because she's multipurpose and can literally do anything in the game. My Krait Mk II is equally good at exploring (she has been my main exploration vessel since introduction 2018), but cannot trade large quantities (Tritium anyone? FCs are stations, not ships afterall :p). The Python is better at multipurpose/mission running than my Anaconda, but lacks the endurance/range for exploration. Cutter, Corvette, AspX, Phantom are too specialized in their roles.

My Anaconda it is.
