If I could only fly one ship, it would be the . . .

One ship?

Practical me says Python. Medium pad and jack of all trades.

Hans Solo me say Phantom. Closest thing we have to the Millennium Falcon in the game.

Really? what can you do with a Courier? It's basically useless. Sure it's fun the fly but so is the Eagle.
If you wanna impress the women, get a vette.
My daughter says she would pick the Dolphin over any other ship. Hers is called parfum de rêve and she flies it enthusiastically and with great skill, shaking off interdictions like una bella would shake off unwanted attention.

You've never owned or flown a Courier.

The thing is that while the iEagle and Viper 3 can be outfitted to be slightly faster, the iCourier is by far the fastest ship when actually outfitted. Don't take me wrong, I love my viper 3, but let's compare the fast combat viper versus a "mid weight" combat courier:
Combat (coriolis.io)

Imperial Courier (coriolis.io)

The Courier has it beat hands down in almost every metric. It's shields are 3-4 times more powerful, jumps 2x the range, has comparable firepower, is more maneuverable across all axis, has space to carry cargo, has 50% better hull, 4x the range and boosts faster.

I'm not dissing the Viper, it's an awesome ship. Just don't be too hasty to write off the iCourier. Can you think of any other 850m/s, 620mj shield, thermal vent beam and multi cannon armed ship that jumps in the mid 30's?

I agree with that, and on top of that I would argue the Courier has the most firepower potential because you can mount non-lightweight weapons if you sacrifice some jump range, and still hit mid 800s on the boost. You could use overcharged MCs or frags, or efficient PAs, or LR rails (or SRB rails but i havent tried that, probably too hot).

If meaning to just fly around and have fun in every day? Clipper.

If it means only one ship forever but you still need to do everything you need to? Anaconda.

I’ve been watching this thread and mulling it over for days, but I just can’t do it.

My head says the Krait MkII. I’ve gone to Beagle Point in it, fought in it, traded in it...and yet, I can’t give up my other ships. I’d miss the Keelback’s boost, the utilitarian (and rusty) Viper cockpit, the awesome Sidey sunroof, the Cathedral window on the deck of the Type 7 and the blinding white surfaces of the Imperial ships.

Ive just got to face the fact, I’m a ship s l u t.🥰

The Cutter. Currently i main the Vette cause i do mostly PvE combat at the moment but if it comes to EVERYTHING the Cutter just beats most other Ships.

I wanna go with Vulture.. love that ship but if i'd have to use it for the whole game? probably not gonna be fun for long.. so Krait mkII all day. Best multipurpose ship imo..

Lots of opinions here.

There’s no right or wrong, but if you haven’t said Python or Krait Mk II then you’re wrong 😁

Personally I’d take the extra slot over the option of a SLF and more manoeuvrability, but I would not argue against anyone who said the Krait.

My jack-of-all-trades utility ship is this Python

It can pretty much go anywhere and do anything
As soon as I saw the title of this thread, I knew it was going to be mostly pythons and kraits. Booooring.

Any ship designed in such a way that you can see your deployed hardpoints from your seat in the cockpit. Gives some drama to pressing the red button, and makes the connection between your weapons fire and the target almost tangible.
I can only think of the krait and sidewinder and maybe the vipers. What other ships have visible turrets?

Whilst the Courier is a great ship, you're not correct on the manueverability point.

Courier isn't anywhere close to as maneuverable as the viper, the second the boost gets hit. Given that both need to boost to get the speed up, viper is massively more agile than courier at speed due to its great boost profile.

This doesn't take away from the great utility of the courier. But it has a junk boost and lacks high speed agility as a result.

Definitely fastest multirole tho, by far. Its a good ship.

Edit : its way better than imp Eagle too. That is truly a ship with suck level agility.

Python. However, if I had to leave and never come home, Anaconda. It would be AspX but it doesn't have a decent place to fit an extra large, fully stocked bar.
