My niece is at school with more than one Arwen.
The latest fashion is girls called Khaleesi, named by fans of Game of Thrones who aren't quite big enough fans to know that's her title, not her name.
I've never met a Leia. Parents in my day clearly had more sense.
I don't think anyone's crying foul over the use of first names. I went to school with an Arwen, but then again I'm welsh, so a lot of us did. Leia too (a variant of Leah), is fairly common biblical name.
Obviously, there's degrees. For example, seeing a Walt is pretty innocuous, even a Walt The Cook, or a Mickey Walt. They have a subtlety about them; they're a nod to popular figures without waving it in your face. But shooting down Walt Disney, I would suggest, is a little jarring for those trying to place themselves in the universe. (Sorry McDosy, this isn't really aimed at you - I just wanted to clarify a point.) Put in another way, there's a big difference between naming your drink cola and Coca Cola.
