International Union of Zoos (Roleplay)

Ok, I got it: every story needs an antagonist, right?

I wanna be that guy. Y'all decide of which I could be:

  1. Greedy corporate business man who plans to close down zoos and replace them with commercial buildings
  2. Diabolical zoological Park owner who plans to buy at all zoos and control them for himself
I would say 1 if you want to get further from the Myles character of the PZ campaign but 2 might be a bit easier to roleplay

I see we have a new challenger for worst rich guy 1 would be the most interesting 2 would be the easiest to role play
also finally decided on a name for my founder Charlie Lockwood

I'm personally not interested in an antagonist play, so won't take part in this aspect. Just as a heads up when I ignore those posts. Personal preference, everyone play the way say like, I prefer cooperative role play

@Cocolori
Would your organisation be interested in cooperating with profit-zoos? UNITY has high standards in conservation and education and is searching for a meerkat group for an upcomming enclosure. Maybe we can adopt a group from you, so you have space for new rescues? A donation for your help goes without saying.

Yeah, that’s kinda where I am. I started this so we could RP peacefully. I’m not exactly on board with it, I might think it through a little.

If that's the case, then I won't. I want a fun roleplay, but if people prefer not, then that's totally ok. I'll release my inner villain elsewhere 🥸

And that's it for now, we are currently working in more facility's to house more animals, our current project is the ocapi house. I also wanted to say if anyone here needs some lemurs or bongos call us, we can work on a deal.
Goodbye for now.

Greetings, Dier Zoo. We accept your application. As we say for all of our entries, where is your zoo located so we can enter it into our list?

Thanks, IUZ

Update on the Eastborro Zoo Sun Bears

Today, November 25th, the Eastborro Zoo is excited to share the birth of a baby sun bear cub, Gemi! She is our first baby bear in the zoo, and is part of our captive breeding program. We hope that we will get more successful offspring in the future so that we can protect this specie.

Eastborro Zoo has some exciting news!

Our Sun Bear, Harley is pregnant! This is such good news for the species. Thanks to Unity Zoo for bringing us Ramelan, our proud father. We will update when she has her cub!
Forum Post from Madeline Parris

"Hey there Eastborro Zoo! I'm Maddy, the former Keeper of Ramelan. This is such exciting news for me! I miss Ramelan dearly, but glad to hear he likes his new girl as much as he loved ours! Be sure to send me pics of the cups, please! And give Ramelan some mealworms from me, he absolutely loves those as an enrichment snack! Best wishes!"

(Forum post from Ellie Baxter, the Sun Bear’s new keeper)
”Why hello Maddy! Ramelan is doing very well in his new habitat, and Harley is too with his company. I gave him the meal worms per request! He ate a whole cup of ‘em in like five minutes!

Gemi, Ramelan‘s daughter, is exploring her new home. She took her first nap in their hammock today, and her proud father shared some of his enrichment snack with her!

When I came to work today, Odis, Their other keeper, came up to me, oddly excited. He just said to follow him.
So I did, and he took me to their indoor area. There was another cub! Harley had had twins, but the other hadn’t left it’s house, so we never knew! Roro, our previously unkown little one, has been wandering around with Gemi today. They are such cute cubs! We thank Unity Zoo very dearly for their generous donation. Thank you, -Ellie”

Welcome to Sola!
~Land at the Top of World~

Sola is home to ~17,000 people. Its architecture blends East (in-game India) and West (Classic). Being in Nepal its history is (mostly) a mystery. It was officially founded in 1991 from a combination of the villages of Arctictis, Ioway, Leadville and Southside. Southside was so called for being on the Southern end of a 20 mile long valley. A glacier, known as Broad Glacier looms above it. This Glacier is one of two ways early explorers got into the once remote Valley. The other way is a few miles to the North and East, a cave in a peak known as Mt. Whichway. Arctictis "city" was began right outside of the resultant tunnel in the cave. Ioway is between Arctictis and Southside. Leadville is the furthest North community...
In order of population the largest to smallest the former villages are Arctictis (nearly half of the Sola population lives here), Southside, Ioway and Leadville. The mayor Anita Raja herself lives in Arctictis. The Downtown of Sola is mostly within Arctictis with only a bit of it in Ioway. HOWEVER, A bit further west Ioway has a nice park called Maple Park. It is here that Anita envisions, one day, a zoo...

...Fast forward a few years and many political battles and Anita's dream is about to become a reality. She just needs to get the population to vote on whether or not a zoo is a welcome addition to the great city of Sola...

Another lady has dreams of zoo life! Further south, in India, Rachel G. was raised. An American citizen, she came to India with her parents who are missionaries. She read classic animal stories such as The Call of the Wild and dreamed for years of colder climates. Eventually she moved North to Sola, where she reads the daily paper.
One day in February (about a year after she moved) she saw an exciting story! The Mayor wants to build a zoo! She begins to tell anyone who will listen how great a zoo would be.

IRL Notes This was a long post and it is about the surroundings of the zoo. And a bit about how I imagine the Sola Zoo became to be known as Signature Wildlife rather than Sola Zoo. Its not necessary to read at all. What is necessary to read I'll post in a bit.

I logged in a new zoo!

Bad Erzeburg, Lower Saxony, GER
(The city doesn't exist, I hope that's ok. I didn't want to take a city that already existed)

You will hear from me!
Yep, Orkan stated in his innitial post that fictive places are fine :) It took me a moment to read the "Bad" in german, though 😅 Looking forward to game with you.

Love yourn initiation post. Do you happen to know already if the zoo specialises in? Is it just a generic zoo or does it specialize in Indian Animals or cold climate animals or something?

OH!! Lol :ROFLMAO:
In this case, Bad doesn't mean bad! German cities get a "Bad" in front of the city name if they are health resorts.
To be honest, I hadn't thought of that at all. :ROFLMAO:

Well, I know (I'm german, remember? ;) ) but it's good to read again for the non-german speakers.
