Patch Notes January Update - Patch 2

Before I have a rant... Took out my FDL (which I used in the local CZ on Sunday) as I have a few courier missions with lots of interesting NPC's eager to meet me, Interdicted, deploy hardpoints, shut down as all priorities are set to 1! (I think it is the only ship with balancing power requirements I have, so will check before I file a bug report)
Anyone else seen this ?
Just checked and the first ship I've tried still has all its module priorities assigned correctly.
 
Patch 2 install doesn't seem to be working/installing with Oculus version, been over 10 minutes now, it downloaded and says "Installing..." but nothing is happening, sitting at 0%.

Anyone else with Oculus version having an issue with Patch 2?

Forget it, just went from 0% to finished in 1/2 second, after sitting doing nothing for close to 15 minutes, nice installer.:confused:
I've restarted the Oculus install twice, after waiting on the "Installing... 0%" for about an hour each...

Still not there yet so the alt gets to go out while I'm waiting as steam updated in just a few seconds!

We will be releasing the January Update - Patch 2 on 21 January at 12:00 PM (UTC) for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. This patch includes the stutter issue fix that we introduced in January Update - Patch 1 on PC, for players on console.

Known Issues

Thargoids
  • Thargoid Hearts can still sometimes become immune to damage. Thanks to logs provided by commanders, we have been able to add some more focused telemetry to identify causes of the issue. Please continue to contribute your netlog files via Issue Tracker should you encounter this bug.

Bug Fixes

Exploration

  • Fixed a stuttering issue caused by requesting data for all planets on arrival in a system (console only, this fix has been introduced in January Update - Patch 1 for PC).
  • Numbers are no longer being cut off from signal source names in the Navigation Panel.
Crashes & Stability
  • Fixed a crash which could occur when an Imperial Fighter is destroyed in CQC.
Thargoids
  • Fixed an issue that meant Thargoid Combat Bonds were not always being awarded.
Conflict Zones
  • Fixed an issue which could cause the Conflict Zone victory tracker to disappear.
If you encounter a bug or issue, please do report them straight to our Issue Tracker so that we can investigate!
We wanted bug fixes, we got bug fixes. Thank you Frontier! If I may be so humble, please reward the tea ladies and the janitors too. (I used to be a janitor, many moons ago. I can't stand tea anymore. I overdosed as a child.)

I read recently that an astro-physicist is responsible for the rendering of this game, how awesome is that? On a scale of one to ten, it's quantum entangled...

I've flown 3 ships this afternoon that all had messed up priorities with lots (but not all) modules set to 1. All of these ships needed priorities to function properly.

The changes I then made seemed to stick, will check again.

It is so good to be part of such a supportive community 🤭

Oculus also doesn't want me to play too much, obviously - took over 3 hours to finally get the tiny patch installed (3 attempts overall)

Cz's when I get back to base, just finishing 24 very 'tasty' Courier missions - many with added 'condas, Vultures and FAS' :)

But THIS is the point. A lot of devs are making their games grind as hell just to make u playing hundreds of hours doing the same thing again and again, I dont want to be rude my friend...I LOVE Elite ! One of my favorite games ! I have more than 2000 hours playing, triple Elite, all ships, all enginers unlocked and so on...But I feel Elite need more content by now. New missions, SRVs and maybe new ships until the "New Era". With new content, a lot of ppl will STOP saying about credits. Just my opinion, of course.

Anyone managed to get this update through Oculus yet? Mine seems to be stuck.

OK fine now. Just a bit slow.

fair commennt, but you are triple elite many players new and on coming are not , you have ground youre way others are trying to and having fun lets not make so only top players rule the game 07 cmdr

I understand your point too.
Just for your information: I dont want to be some "Elitist" player. lol. I want more content for ALL players. ( the vets and news ).

-Exclusive missions to small ships only, for example. ( All my condas, Vettes and Cutters are docked while Im flying HAPPY with my loved Adder. )
-Some kind of "narrative missions" ( some missions could tell us about the Thargoid invasion....The guardians....The history of the enginers and so on )
-"Scheduled" Passangers missions. ( a new mechanic when u can "subscribe" your ship in some station to make a trip for point A to B - Leave the Beluga docked in that station..When the ship are full, you receive a msg to do the mission )
-New mechanics for SRV ( engineering the SRV )....Doing skimmers and Data missions are a pain sometimes ( SRV are TOO weak for some attack planetary missions ).
-Escort mining ships, escort criminal minds ships and so on.

Sorry if I look like some Elitist ED player... it wasnt my intention

I agree at 1000% with Renato, we need fix for de health of the game (this part is process actually) but we need content for the futur (and "soon" please) also for the health of the game.
Lets not make so only new players rule the game
Why? Because news players have not yet proven their loyalty on the game. maybe it possible your go somewhere else in the near future

can we not fix the combat zones. when ships do show up after jumping from one to the other I can only kill 5-7 ships before "Victory" and everyone jumps out. Let the fighting continue
