Patch Notes January Update - Patch 2

I feel you man. FDev seriously dropped the ball and made a mess of a lot of features in the game in the past years...and on top of that they don't even comment and offer explanation on stuff they changed when the whole community is asking for more explanations.

They seriously have the most awkward way to deal with their community. All their actions are like pouring oil on fire. No wonder why all the salt and negativity on all their post on youtube, facebook, etc.

The simple fact that they don't take time to aknowledge major balance & features problems in the game that are highlighted by the community for years only send a "We don't give a f*ck about it" to us...that's really sad to see and a poor way to keep the playerbase fidelity.
Whole community asking for explanations? What needs explaining?
Sorry, last time I looked I'm part of this so-called 'community' and can't recall asking for any explanations for anything :)
Enjoy your rant, regardless 🤷‍♂️

This isn't a bad patch, least not for me. What i would like is an explanation from FD why some of the long standing bugs going back years have not yet been addressed. It's all well and good fixing things that were probably broken in the more recent patches caused by FD themselves, but the older issues, when are they going to be fixed? All the reports filed on these issues on the Issue Tracker are simply ignored.

The problem is that the community that posts on the forums is so divided on what is and isn’t an issue that FDev are in a no win situation no matter what they say and do someone is going to be upset about it and how they have broken the game.

Sure and mainly on the balance issues (ex: some people are fine with the new price of VO VS other that want it back as before january patch) but I doubt that most players are OK with half-working features like the commodities market actually in game (and other half-baked features).

How long does it take Fdev to respond to trouble tickets? I am just curious, I opened up # 283157 a few days ago and have not heard anything back. I have not been able to log into Elite for a week now.

Not sure if it was reported, but material percentage in fragments mined seems to be missing in this patch. I remember the percentages used to be visible

Also, in inventory, refinery, after moving the cursor to the right to eject some material from refinery, pressing left to exit from refinery and return to the left menu puts the cursor to the bottom of the screen, over cabins, instead of returning the cursor back on refinery. Really annoying
Same behavior when browsing the inventory, again really annoying when mining and have to adjust the content of refinery/inventory every several minutes

That feature was added in the 1st January 2020 Update/Patch. Every tab on the right panel now does this when using a XB1 controller. Using Red/B button when available (ie, Ship tab) seems to return to the sub-tab/page of the selected main tab in the right panel but D-pad use always selects the last sub-tab/page instead of leaving one on the current sub-tab/page.

So it's a feature, right.
Another feature added was in the System Map where the list of factions on 1st tab jumps to the bottom upon the 1st use of D-pad down. Then each subsequent system viewed will start at bottom of the list of factions (mostly at least - it changes the start point in the list randomly at times but most-often starts at the bottom after that 1st time use of D-pad down on 1st tab of SysMap).

Unfortunately, I lean toward these features being more annoying than game-breaking bugs so I don't expect them to be fixed - certainly not if based on getting votes in the Issue Tracker. Not even sure they've been reported there. As such, I expect them to be around for a long time - thus, features. :(

As promised, here's the update (much earlier than expected):

The ticket was submitted on Sunday evening at 21:32, the answer with the solution arrived this Monday morning at 11:19. On the support page I was informed that due to many demands a reply could last up to 72 hours.

I don't know if the problem was trivial or not, but it was definitely something they had to validate my both accounts for (Frontier and Steam), since I had mistakenly linked my new Steam account to my main account at Frontier, which was irreversible from my side. The re-linking worked 'out of the box', a super fast, professional and painless transition. Of course I included all the relevant information in my ticket, but if I didn't, I'm pretty sure they would have requested the missing parts.

This is of course just an example and probably doesn't say much, but the few times I've had to consult Frontier support in the last 5 years have always been positive. So I'm very curious to know what kind of trouble you've had that you're not even being called back.
They got my issue fixed too, because of the volume of calls it took longer than normal (opened call on 1/22 resolved and closed on 1/26). My issue was a corrupted save on the Frontier servers. They moved my ship to another system and everything started working.

Yesterday I was able to play CQC on my PS4 for almost 2 hours without any issues whatsoever - compared to how it was before is a difference like day and night. Also, all of my SLF-Problems have disappeared, the game used to crash every few minutes when using the fighter. Good job guys!

System Authority ships still shooting at each other for no reason. Any idea when this will be fixed?
