Lego Asp Scout (UCS minifig 1:96ish scale) update

It still looks like a simple Lego construction versus a serious ED ship. May I offer this thread.

Cobra Mk 2.0
Ok, seeing this masterpiece led me to running the song "If I were a rich man" over and over again in my head. Another bloody amazing piece of work. Now all it needs is for it to be lit up! Is the Cobra really that big compared to the minifigs? Good lord that is HUGE. I wonder how big my Type 10 would be at Lego minifig scale..........

Most likely (going from actually building) the model would be too weak and bend horribly and be incapable of standing up under the weight (not without help).

Hopefully not harsh but inspiration...

? To be honest you drastically underestimate building good looking lego in the real world.

Or, let me put it another way: what exactly is wrong with the design you see? Constructive crits generally involve "this / that is wrong". Its hard to improve anything if all you say is "its simplistic"- what the hell does that even mean?

You know, Rubbernuke, that ships of yours is gonna need..........LIGHTS! It's a thing with me. Anytime I see a Lego project, whether it's mine or someone else's, I start rummaging through all my Lego electrical bits to see what kind of light show can be incorporated into it. Urge...to...stick...Lego...lights...all...over...Rubbernuke's...Asp...rising.

I had been experimenting with lighting, mainly to show the cargo ramp / lower deck which is fully detailed (but you can't directly see).

A small update- made a small scanner based on the icon in game:

Mounted in the cavity under the crew lounge (which so far is empty).

Excellent mate, really good interpretation. I like the way you have put all the little fiddly bits into it - great stuff :)

(I was going to write a post that said - "hmmm, that's uninspiring..." - but I thought that might have been too sarcastic after the above, and I didn't want you to think I was being serious!).

Well, those are all bought for classic castle MOC's. You know, mix 80's early 90's Lego Idea Books with some pictures of medieval Italian hamlets, throw in a few Forestmen with red pants, palm tree trunks with Plant Leaves 6 x 5 for leaves, add some Black Falcon shields. That sort of stuff.
Don't forget the classic space requirement for insanely expensive colored parts - trans yellow makes old grey look cheap!

I fondly remember the wacky coloured Lego space you could get (you can see one set here in the lower middle, looking like something from a sweetshop). And monorail!
My mrs bought me that for Christmas last year and hid the individual parts around our flat like a treasure hunt - it took until I found the trans yellow hoses to work out what it was.

With the exception of the monorail, the most expensive part in my collection is the forklift in the centre of the picture. Luckily it's one of the few pieces me and my brother didn't leave our dental records on as kids!

My folks bought me the monorail when I was young (giving away my age...!) and I still have it somewhere in their attic - absolutely awesome!
Wow, you must have been the special boy :D
If you want to sell it let me know...
...If you want to sell it for market value stick it on ebay :D . I picked mine up as individual parts and built a simple layout for the picture so didn't include the points and stuff that I've got, and it cost more than my (admittedly rather crappy) car.

I don't use any computer software, just prototype, learn and rebuild :D
My approach is the same. It’s all part of the fun I think, and I enjoy problem solving. I use enough 3D design software for work....
Had a bit of a rebuild on the Falcon today, due to ‘technical‘reasons it’s slightly larger now. \o/
