Lego Technic SRV (WIP)

Cheers! It will be Minifig scale just- in scale terms its roughly 1:96 so technically it sits a little between Minifig and the weird Microscale (I think) size.

I will be doing an interior, I've planned out roughly what I intend to do but I need more Lego for that.

EDIT: here is a poor photo of scale, as well as some work on the back (and really early landing gear- the whole model is self supporting).

Nice! I do suggest blocking out the interior before you make the outer panels. elite ship modules are alot larger then i thought they where and often leave little room for crew quarters and the like. Edit: I'm not paying attention I see you are already doing that, sorry.

how big is it? looks awesome!
Wow that krait looks perfect in every detail! I’m a bit envious😬.
The nebulon measures around 90cms long, and mostly made from my left over stock. Quite fitting as that ship is a miss matched heap of half broken parts in the Star Wars world so I was free to mix old grey with new grey. Think I put an extra £45 in from brick link to fill in what I needed. (There are some additional pics in this thread if you go back a little)
.,,..Mustn’t make a black and red Krait. .... I mustn’t !, because then I will make a Python also.

Flimley

Update: 16/03/2020
I have worked up the sides, front and rear of the main body now, got the roof pieces attached although I did have to modify them slightly as they were getting in the way of the turret's track mechanism. Also attached the turret too. The turret track sticks a little - I'll need to figure out why, but the boosters go up and down really nicely! The orange and black thing you see directly behind the cockpit is the IR unit so I can control the motors wirelessly.

I have the middle wheel assembly built and ready to attach, just need to complete the front and rear assemblies now.

Bloody hell, it's huge! (either that or your arm is tiny)

Looking awesome Nick!

I love greebling, one of the best things in sci-fi. Ships like the Nostromo look awesome with all the extra detail. The ship in Silent Running, the (old) Galactica etc.

The recent LEGO Tantive IV has some lovely greebling. So does the UCS Falcon & Star Destroyer.

Great work all of you, I really should pull a finger out and start building something ELITE....

According to some blueprints they are not that tall- they are about 1.5 x the height of a human and a minifig is not far away from that (and microscale about right). What annoys me with Lego are the minifigs are proportionally insane.

The main difficulty will be getting a passsable likeness of the thruster design. Its possible but again needs more.....grey.... Lego.

Why is it I always wind up with the sky blue stuff?

when building lego scale stuff I find that mining height makes the size look right.(heh, rhymes) the width sorts itself out as the model is built

you could also instead make an asp scout and ignore them
