Sir, your helper has a cracked helmet with no visor! How do you expect him to survive the building process?
We're currently assembling in a 1G pressurised environment, and he seems to enjoy itSir, your helper has a cracked helmet with no visor! How do you expect him to survive the building process?
The moment i have been waiting for..... When it turns into real Lego! I’m currently building the Nebulon-b medical frigate from Empire Strikes Back. It’s about two and a half foot long and getting quite weighty now.
Carry on Cmdr Nick!

Update: 07/03/2020
Building has continued, base level gearing and motors are in place, having to wait for some more chain links to arrive, in the meantime the front of the SRV can be worked on

It’sa bizarre ship for sure. A tricky challenge in Lego. I can sling a couple in here if none minds. The Nebulon-B! I love that ship! Hope you'll take some pictures of it for us!
This is looking great - nice work!Update: 29/2/20.
multiple parcels of lego are starting to arrive. I'm getting slowly buried.
Yeah. Because he is an expert he takes 10%of all earnings. That srv will be costlyGreat thread, the helper makes me laugh.
I have been using bricklink for this project. I hadn't used it before Lego took it over, but mostly it seems ok. You do have to check every single part that arrives as some sellers are a bit lazy when checking they are sending the right item. I've noticed one of the sloping bricks is a different colour so I'll have to re-order that part but it's not a huge issue as it's one of the last bricks to go on the model. This is looking great - nece work!
Are you using bricklink and if so, how are you finding it now Lego have bought it out?
I've read a bit about Lego messing about with the names of the colours making it a bit confusing, also getting a bit obstructive to accounts that sell other bricks such as custom monorail parts (I sold all of my boxed star wars sets to concentrate on classic space so old grey & replacement monorail is pretty important)
I've not had to make an order for some time however looking to switch to brickowl.
Of course, sling on in!It’sa bizarre ship for sure. A tricky challenge in Lego. I can sling a couple in here if none minds.

Ordering the pieces was a challenge in itself. I had the idea originally to order from Lego themselves as they were pretty affordable on a previous order I placed, but when they got back to me with my complete list it came to an insane total, plus they listed around 100 pieces that they didn't supply anymore.
I had to export a BOM (Book of Materials, basically a parts list) file from LDD, then because bricklink didn't like that file I had to import that BOM into the Rebrickable site (which I highly reccommend). The Rebrickable site was very useful because it told me which parts didn't exist in my chosen colour, which parts where rare in certain colours etc... so I was able to substitute colours as needed. THEN I could export from Rebrickable over to Bricklink.
Then of course came the ordering.... that was fun. 2,000 pieces over 300 odd types of part. I ended up splitting the list over 6-7 different sellers. Since then I have found some Lego space baseplates from the 1980's that fit the theme perfectly, 4 of those arrived and I'll be using them to sit the SRV on to display it.
