List of Earth-like worlds, v3

Ouch... wrong distance data writed. How to get correct SOL distance? I'm current 6000 LY away from SOL.
Unfortunately, in the meantime I have left 1,500 light years. Maybe I look backwards.

No worries, I'll look it up in a couple of days, as I'm nearby. In the end, I didn't go on a long expedition, preferring to survey areas closer to home for the time being.

There are also three terraforming candidates, and a useful amount of rocks and metal; also an isolated K9 VA star about 2,000 AU out from the primary. Still plenty of interesting stuff out past the Coal Sack -- I think most commanders were in a hurry to get to Eta Carinae when they headed this direction...

Ah, another entry to disprove the belief that nothing new can be found within 1000 ly. Like you mentioned, it's really about picking the right direction(s). Nicely done, and welcome to the list, Commander!
Since this is your first contribution, let me ask something: how did you find the list? (For example: you saw it on the recent threads, you saw it in the cartographics sticky, you heard about it from friends, etc.)

I had a vague memory it was around somewhere, and spotted it on the Forum while checking another thread...

(In the same survey run, I also found a system nearby - SWOILZ OI-Z D1-47 about 11 LY distant - with a Pristine Metallic Ring (planet 9) and a bunch of high metal content rings.)

Well now, that's a close one which is always a nice surprise. Thanks for reporting it, and welcome to the list Commander!
Since this is your first post here, mind if I ask how you first found the thread?

The grand expedition is turning out well!
Here's 2 systems, with more to come once I've returned from the edge of the galaxy.

Swoilz XS-B c16-17
K7 VA, 1065 ly from Sol.
Discovered by me, CMDR Trevor Goodchild.

Prieluia ZI-T d3-41
Neutron star, 8297 ly from Sol
Discovered by Gouzaku.

The latter system is only 135 ly from waypoint 5 in the Distant World expedition.

Google!

Over in the Hutton Orbital Truckers group, we've been focusing on increasing our influence in Alpha Centauri and WISE 0855-0714. Cashing in exploration data is one way to do that.

Two days ago I posted (on our Facebook group) a short 1,000Ly black hole romp/roundtrip with 6 black holes in 4 systems. Explorers could make between 800k to 1mil cr, depending on how thorough they were.

Yesterday, I researched and posted an Earthlike world roundtrip that ran 2,300Ly total from Sol and back and would earn the explorer ~2.5mil cr. I was on my way from 3 Epsilon Trianguli, headed towards Aries Dark Region ST-Q B5-2 and I happened to land in Aries Dark Region FW-W D1-63 by pure luck.

Here's my post with the loop info:
"If you want to explore 13 Earthlike worlds over 2,300Ly total roundtrip, then follow this route:
Capricorni Sector MX-U C2-8
HIP 116559
HIP 116600
COL 285 Sector KO-H C10-27 (No earthlike, but a waterworld at planet 7. This was one of my stops on the way to the next earthlike & got a bonus.)
Wredguia JX-A C27-3
HR 7919
Wredguia BL-E C25-35
Wredguia ZZ-N C20-6
HIP 6295
3 Epsilon Trianguli
Aries Dark Region FW-W D1-63
Aries Dark Region ST-Q B5-2 (There's a terraformable waterworld right next to the earthlike in this system. Bonus! And then a regular waterworld next to it!)
HIP 12341
COL 285 Sector OC-L C8-11
The furthest from Sol you'll get is about 450Ly. This trip earned me ~2.5mil cr."

A few months back, I took an extended trip out past the Heart & Soul Nebulas and attempted to cross the Formidine Rift. The DBX wasn't having it, and Horizons was about to be released so I headed back. I think I discovered an earthlike or two out there. I definitely came across plenty of waterworlds. But I didn't write anything down! If I ever figure it out, I'll be sure to post.

Woot! I finally found an Earth-like of my very own. I waited until I got back to the Bubble (well, Quince) before posting it here, just for the screenshot with my name on it.

System: Bleae Thua MX-B d13-8
#ELs: 1 (planet 7 of primary star)
Distance from Sol: 2645.22 LY

Star type: F3 VB, one companion star K6 VA, proc-gen
Rings: no; Moons: no

Tourist notes: Planet is small (exactly 1/3rd of Earth, with 0.7 gravities) and balmy, with about a 40:60 land-water ratio. There's not terribly much else of interest in the system or in nearby stars. There are no rings or asteroids in the system, so it didn't qualify as a Pioneers Collective candidate for colonization. Scanning the entire system is quite valuable (Over 300k, not including bonuses), with two terraformable HMCs and a terraformable water world in addition to the Earth-like. Curiously, Universal Cartographics were more interested to hear about the nearby large terraformable water world (planet 8) than the Earth-like, judging by the bonuses they paid me:

Tidally locked earthlike, I'm sure it's not the only such but that is an odd mouthful.

I forgot to record the distance to Sol my first time through, was hoping to trilaterate and then compute the distance it from my records but the distance information I wrote down isn't enough to trilaterate after the fact. Turned back around to record the Sol distance.

@marx Thanks! I've never really stopped exploring but there was a long drought without earthlikes for sure. Some day I might even make it far enough from the bubble to get an ELW first discovery of my own :)

First, welcome to the list, Commander Drownerfood! (Is that from the Witcher books?) Thanks for adding in the distances later - right now, I'm nowhere near Sol.

@ deathkin: say, that's an interesting one, I haven't seen an Earth-like with carbon dioxide listed in its atmosphere. Then again, I might simply have missed it. And don't worry, you don't really have to go far to be able to find new Earth-likes, you just need to pick a good direction. Which is mostly away from the core and also away from popular destinations. Going above or below the galactic plane helps, too.

@ Sapyx: congrats, and thanks for the notes! Yeah, it is somewhat odd that a large enough terraformable world can be worth more than an Earth-like planet. Personally, I think that discovery values ought to be readjusted by now - especially with so many neutron stars having been discovered, heh.

@ FalconFly: oh hey, welcome back! Thanks for filling out most of your missing ones. Could you post screenshots for OOCHOSS TO-O D7-3 and OUTORST FP-R D4-8 too please? The rest of the info is still there for those two entries, it's just the screenshots that are missing.
Also, nice finds so close to the bubble! I was always wondering whether there really weren't any Earth-likes near the Pleiades, and now we know there's at least one.

Oh, and a minor change to the list: I'll add a note for systems where there are multiple ELW-s and they orbit each other. This is still ongoing, though it shouldn't take long. So far though, it seems that if there are two Earth-likes in a system, they are more likely a binary pair than not.
