Making money as a pirate, is it possible?

I built one from a Krait Phantom. 14 heat with shields up, 11 with them down. I have never been scanned going into or out of a station.

Stealth as in inconspicuous enough for other CMDRs to not get alarmed or pay attention to it until they at the recieving end of my interdiction tether. My Orca runs hot as I need an g5 oc PP to power everything. Yours would be an awesome smuggling ship or for npc piracy. Maybe I build one, now that carriers seem to be a dud and I have a couple of billions to play with.

fwiw every market is different.
each market in each system including black market fluctuate prices and demands and supplies according to system size, system state, factions state, your rep with them. etc, as well as fluctuations from actual trade and missions if any cmdrs have been working there.

mining with hatch breakers while they are mining, I assume..tsk

totally not profitable profession really..but ya gotta try it to see.
I found the neatest thing about piracy was all the new things I found in npc's that I had only ever heard about.

I don't bother with NPCs, they are too predictable and boring.
I have to recant this statement. I got bored last night with the dearth of CMDRs in Open (mining should be Open only :p), so I switched to pirating NPCs, and their reactions both surprised and pleased me. They actually behaved "human-like", and they seemed to also be fooled by techniques that fool humans, which I wasn't expecting. So once again, a tip of the hat to MoM! The one obvious thing missing is comms and diplomacy, and I'm sure their scripted reactions won't cover the wide range of interactions I can have with a variety of players, but it's enjoyable enough to do while waiting for actual players to arrive in my instance.

I was agree with mining only open in the past but now, with my six month baby, i have to say that prívate group just save me from leaving Elite. When my little baby grown a little ill come back to always open, now is not possible to me.

I'm trying to figure out why this is, and the first thing that comes to mind is all the yelling I do while playing PvP games (especially Overwatch, but also sometimes Elite). It disturbs the wife, so I can't imagine the effects on a sleeping baby LOL.
