Actually I haven't blocked anybody, I have escaped 4 ship ganking so I fear not though the block button will still be there for others and me so you won't see me even in open while I calmly undermine a system (if I desier so).

You can still be instanced with someone you've blocked. That calmness might not last...
Only if you are on my friend list or are in a wing with me, besides, if I was instanced with you I'd have no issue with my tanky Python.
Let me just phrase it like this, I don't see many gankers in open even though I haven't blocked anybody but I wonder how often I'd see one if I blocked the first who came under my radar, besides, its much harder to kill somebody who isn't interested in a duel especially if he's on your block list cause you know, ships take forever to blow up nowadays.
A CMDR who isn't interested in dueling never, ever actually has to- even in open. That's what too many people don't understand whilst wallowing in their victim complexes. You are to be commended for at least realizing that.
You know, there are other perks to open like meeting people, chatting or just watching the world burn, people will use each mode for any reason they desier but I'm sure you casually forgot that now.
Well now you know, those who only care about undermining to do it in solo aren't gonna change in mood once forced into open and that if they have decent gear mixed with the block button you essentially won't stop them thus defeating the purpose of this idea.

I can’t speak for Jockey, but I bought this game because the modes were equal. I had a choice each day in how I wanted to play. PvP carries little interest for me in most games, yet I engage in it when the mods strikes me. I knew exactly what Elite was when I bought it (twice!). Now I’m at a point where I’ve invested a lot of money and time into this game that, for me, was one thing and now it’s turning into something else.
PP was NEVER about direct PvP for me. Because it’s never been required EVER. That is changing and that is the reason why I resist. And it’s why I know there are other, better solutions to shieldless haulers and 5c. But open only is the lowest effort. And unfortunately not the panacea. But for many it’s worth people like me putting the game away. So be it.
