My Block list is longer than yours.

This made me realize something - next time I can't instance with people I'm trying to do something with, I need to gank everyone else in my instance so we can get rid of whoever is ruining the instancing, and with any luck then they'll block me too so that it doesn't happen again.

Wouldn't be simpler to just start a PG with the people you're trying to do something with?
Of course, assuming they're aware of you trying to do something with them and they also agree with that something you're trying to do with them (if indeed it's "with" them and not "to" them) 😇

Nah, I like the fact that in Open I have to stay on my toes and if someone doesn't like what I'm doing they can (try to) gank me back.

A few years ago I made a suggestion that on the insurance screen there would be an option to blacklist an enemy, as an option you could add people to the blacklist only there.
This would make it useless for me. The only people I have blocked haven't ever blown me up, but they have been involved in IP harvesting and doxxing people they instance with - so I don't want to instance with them. On the other hand, most of the time if someone blows me up I send them a friend request so we can instance again later, because I enjoy the fights.
... add you to their blocking list - which is also a perfectly acceptable 🤷‍♂️
Indeed, I never said it wasn't. In fact I requested that the people who block pvpers also block me - though they of course aren't obligated to. Just a polite request. But it's way more fun if they try to blow me up instead.

Not only is my blocklist longest. It also has the biggest and heaviest non-impact on matchmaking of all blocklists. Basically there is nothing to complain about my long, mighty blocklist and it is really easy for anybody to get on my pro blocklisting level: The only way to win is not to play.

Why not just block them instead? It's a whole lot easier! And the end result is the same.

I've blocked people who I've identified as destabilizing the instance due to crappy Internet or other mechanisms (usually identifiable by rubber-banding, lag, or other weird sync issues). It may not even be their fault, they might just be on the other side of the world, so I'm doing them a favor as much as I'm doing myself that favor.

My block list is everyone not in my Private Group, so, over 99% of players lol.

The good thing about the PG is it's mostly people I actually know (I know where you live, behave lol) and who have solid PC's and connections. So, less of the weird performance-type issues that can plague Open.

I do wish the game was more aware of instancing issues where it's down to performance, be it Hardware, Internet connection etc. it'd make Open life far more bearable.
