Newcomer / Intro My Return to ED ......

Gees! While I was doing a delivery of tea and oil, I got ...... what was it ..... 'interdicted' I think. I got pulled out of FSD (not very nicely I might say), scanned, and told to -off! I think he (maybe I should say 'they' ........ it didn't have to be male) for something of value. Is they a way of avoiding this, or can you give a response so 'they', and other watching, won't do it again!

or

Also tells you where modules are available.

This place has 10% discount and wide availability if you can get to it, though they don't sell the Phantom.
Perfect! Sorry, I've got you having to repeat yourself. I normally do a search but missed this time. I will search first in the future. No point in wasting posts and time. The nice thing is I can restrict my searching to just this thread. If I don't find it here, it soon will be. 😉

Well, I'm not a Prisoner of Mother England, but it's possible some past branches of my family were. There's few families around the Sydney area with my surname who would likely have come from southern half of England or possibly the ancestral home of the Saxon's in Germany.
A slightly more international squadron name might tempt me 😉
Yes ....... in all seriousness, that's what you do learn about being a migrant, or born of mixed parentage: always embrace the bigger picture.
And that's what I love about Australia: it's becoming a place with so many people with diverse backgrounds.
I remember when I first came here 60 years ago, 'Chinese Food'? Unheard off. :D
And we have a wonderful race of indigenous people, who are slowly becoming so much more respected.

I'm automatically dropping out of FSD far too early. Why? Because I'm too close to something. I know what the something is, in this case, it's a planet. But my target is a station very close to the planet and there's 1:20:35 to go in real-time before I arrive. (I now think this means 1hr 20min 35sec). So ........ how do you complete the final stage of the journey in an acceptable time either in or out of FSD? Thanks.

A video is the best way to learn how to evade interdiction when it happens.

If you are flying an armed and shielded/armoured freight ship, you can zero your throttle and submit to the interdiction which means the FSD cool down period is much shorter, and then turn your guns on the pesky pirate, destroy them and collect the salvageable materials for later use in engineering projects. The salvage part of the process is easier and quicker when you have a ship big enough to carry a collection limpet controller and some limpets. Without limpets to collect for you, you can lower your cargo scoop, line up the ship with the item you want to collect (special radar screen appears) and scoop it up that way. Such materials add no weight to your ship and take up no cargo space and they are always available.

Sorry, but how do I "drop" the Items I have to deliver?

Is the head up display circle around your target station made of a dashed line or a solid line?
If it's a dashed line, the station is actually behind the planet, so the fastest way in is to supercruise around the planet giving it a fairly wide berth until you have a clear line of sight to the station without getting too close to the planet. The nearer the planet you pass, the slower your supercruise speed will be, hence its faster to give planets a wide berth unless you're going to land on it.

Oh just love the " ...... turn your guns on the pesky pirate ........." ! And me "the unarmed explorer" 😂 Errrrr ............ the now ex-unarmed explorer. :p Thanks.

Sometimes the collect and deliver missions are a case of, not just deliver any old 2 units of mineral oil you could buy somewhere, but collect the specific 2 units of mineral oil from the location specified in the mission.
I got caught out by this once when the delivery location was a 100,000ls supercruise to the destination from the star you jump to. I had to do that trip twice!

In my case, the Planet was directly behind the station. It took me 10min to travel the 100km. (n)
Initially, it was to the left of the station. So if O represents the Planet and + represents the Station, I saw this: O + but even so I would still drop out of FSD .....

My favourite use of my Anaconda is, hauling 368 tonnes of cargo for around 22,000 to 25,000 credits profit per ton (thanks to eddb.io trade route tools for finding the right commodities and routes), submitting to interdictions and turning one huge multi-cannon, 3 large multi-cannons, 2 medium multi-cannons and two small beam lasers turrets on the pirate. All the multi-cannons are max engineered with effects like incendiary rounds to melt shields, corrosive shells to soften armour and rapid fire or overcharging for increased damage output 😎

Ha! Shouldn't laugh, it might be happening to me, but I don't think so this time. They are specific items from a specific location.

Oh God, I shouldn't laugh :ROFLMAO::LOL:😂 ...... its not funny! 😷:censored::ROFLMAO:

If you have locked onto the station with supercruise assist, it should automatically drop you out of supercruise at around 8k to 10km out. If you have not locked on with supercruise assist, you should see a message pop up on the HUD telling you to press, by default, the J key to exit supercruise when the time is right. If that doesn't explain it, I'm confused....
You should not have to fly on thrusters for 100km unless you're doing a planetary landing and got your descent angle wrong (too shallow usually) and dropped from supercruise too early.

I have SCA active but it's not working.

Without SCA I'm not even getting close enough the get the 'slow down message' and the message to "press J' (I know what you mean, that's what normally happens, but on the last couple of missions, it hasn't)

No ....... this is just a simple station engagement ......

Oh! I picked them up from the station I selected the mission at! Forget its name, but it wasn't in Cohelo ....... 😫
Not according to your screenshot. Read the entire thing. It says right at the top that the depot is Coelho, and there are 2 items, zero collected.

Also, at the bottom, the button says Deliver Items 0, cuz you don't have them with you.
