Go to Stations and enter what you are looking for in "Stations sell module".Grrrrr ! Having a bad day with ED. Forgetting how to do things, can't find things, things working incorrectly, things working without my permission ..... Grrrr !
The camera suite is great for looking around the insides of stations. It can also pass through the station walls so you can look outside. It has a range of 3000 meters. There are trees, vegetation growing inside the Station. A least I think they are trees ...... parked at the moment,
about to drop to my hanger, but I'll take a closer look when I leave.![]()
That's the passengers you'll get when flying a Hauler of a Type 6. Install your Dolphin with business and luxury cabins however, and you'll be rubbing elbows with the rich and famous.Been looking to the future:
(1) Passenger Missions will just be a means to an end. I can't think of anything worse. Noisy, smelly, argumentative passengers ! The last thing I want to be involved with ! However, to gain credits, I'll do it.
........![]()
Are you saying the passenger mission board populates differently if you are in a Dolphin,Orca,Beluga or is this just reference to being able to fit a luxury cabin (which never looks worth it in terms of credits earned)? That's the passengers you'll get when flying a Hauler of a Type 6. Install your Dolphin with business and luxury cabins however, and you'll be rubbing elbows with the rich and famous.![]()
Yes. Exactly what I was doing or trying to do.Go to Stations and enter what you are looking for in "Stations sell module".
By the way - autodock crashing into space station arms and rims - happened to me a few times too. I position the ship in front of these types of station before auto dock now.
Fine, but we are talking about two different bubbles: the games and mine. Both very different. See my Post #843.The camera suite is great for looking around the insides of stations. It can also pass through the station walls so you can look outside. It has a range of 3000 meters.
I often 'fly it' to the entrance of a station and then just sit back and watch the traffic come and go.
I find it strangely relaxing.
............................
This may have been mentioned before...... but if you are now wanting to explore your local area instead of actually leaving the bubble to explore, then you can do that now, and earn good money too.
Yes, I agree.Even though all the systems in the bubble have already been discovered and mapped, you will still get money for mapping them again, which personally I think is a bit weird.
If owning a DSS requires me to travel at least 20Ly's to operate it, forget it. And I hope it does more than earn money. Maybe it does other things like ....... scanning ?Anyway, if you get yourself a DSS to go onto one of your 1 slots, then all you need to do is fly at least 20 ly's away from your area and start exploring. Then go back to your base station and sell the data. Stations will only accept data from at least 20 ly's away.
I think even scanning and mapping an already discovered earth like world in the bubble will still earn you about a million credits.
You will have more than enough money for your next ships in no time. That way you are exploring, like you want to, and won't have to do any mining or passenger runs, which are fun anyway.
That's an understatement !I have just spent about 3 weeks in the black finding loads of unexplored systems with new earth like world's, black holes, and even life.... and when I sold all my data at Explorers Anchorage I made just over 850,000,000 cr's. Not bad for 3 weeks of exploring.
If this is true, I'm saving up for the best Passenger Cabin they make for my Hauler. Ha !That's the passengers you'll get when flying a Hauler of a Type 6. Install your Dolphin with business and luxury cabins however, and you'll be rubbing elbows with the rich and famous.![]()
Whilst I absolutely appreciate you should do exactly what you like and enjoy yourself immensely, I can't help feeling you'll be missing out if you don't expand your horizons.Been looking to the future:

(2) Once I've found my home base, I going to develop my own bubble around it. The size will be limited to the fuel range I have for the craft I finish up with. That range being achieved without the necessity to fuel scooping. In fact, the bubble might be much smaller than that unscooped fuel range. 10 to15 Systems at the most maybe.
(3) Within my bubble I intend to explore every planet, moon, rock, station, ship, etc there is. I hope to land on as many planets as I can, walk on its surface, but not travel any long distances on the same, thus avoiding having to own an SRV.
(4) I will Galaxy map and Systems each area and produce copies of the same available to others.
(5) This is "Exploration" with a difference, not necessarily appealing to many others. However ........![]()
Ok apologies for my typing on n some of that but my edit button has gone bye bye...Whilst I absolutely appreciate you should do exactly what you like and enjoy yourself immensely, I can't help feeling you'll be missing out if you don't expand your horizons.
Don't get me wrong: I'm not trying to preach what to do or not to do.
I get a small buzz from from travelling out to some up-til-now undiscovered system plastering my name all over as s first disco and, in my mind, calling it "mine". Especially if there's some ammonia, ww or elw in it. And perhaps finding a metallic ring to boost my coffers on my return.
Then there's NSP's which are wonderful.
Also, travelling within the bubble proper has its own rewards such as becoming allied with all factions in a system so you get offers of jobs that pay really well.
I get to go e feeling you're averse to fuel scooping. I just couldn't get the hang of it when I first started and had to plot my 5k light year trip for the engineer by visiting populated systems only. I actually sweated making that trip. But once you can scoop, it's dead easy and the whole galaxy - well, nearly - is your new bubble![]()
No. No offense taken. I'm just starting small. Bit like what it was like in Crossfire 2.0 days. The "Universe" there was small and very finite. My "Bubble" here will be about the same and what I do in it will be very familiar. (Martind Falon will know what I meanWhilst I absolutely appreciate you should do exactly what you like and enjoy yourself immensely, I can't help feeling you'll be missing out if you don't expand your horizons.

No, no. It's just if I don't need to do it then I won't. And I shouldn't have to initially, but I can if I have to. A bit like manual take-offs and manual docking. I can, but if I don't need to I won't. (See my post # 688 as to why this is)Also, travelling within the bubble proper has its own rewards such as becoming allied with all factions in a system so you get offers of jobs that pay really well.

No problem. It was a good read.Ok apologies for my typing on n some of that but my edit button has gone bye bye...
Oh dear ......NSP = notable stellar phenomena. E.g. alien lifeforms
I must admit there have been times I've thought I need to back off and give Wombat some space to play the game and discover it at his own pace a bit more . But then another post comes in and I can't resist replyingI think people tend to forget how long it takes to get started in this game, and how much there is to learn. While well intentioned, often the advice is far too advanced, and not something a beginner should even think about doing.
My advice, take your time. Learn at your own pace, bit by bit, and enjoy the process of fumbling about. Try not to get bogged down in too much extraneous advice (including mine!)
Stick with that Hauler until you personally feel that it's not enough for what you're trying to do. Then decide on the best course forward, based on where you are then.
I envy you, really. You're at the most fun part of the game, in my opinion.
If owning a DSS requires me to travel at least 20Ly's to operate it, forget it.
OK but even if you do map your own little bubble first, you will still need to fly at least 20 ly's away to sell the data. But once I've mapped my bubble, I'll be looking for places to go and things to do.
Very, very, observant. Yes, well-meaning, but beyond a beginner's comprehension.I think people tend to forget how long it takes to get started in this game, and how much there is to learn. While well intentioned, often the advice is far too advanced, and not something a beginner should even think about doing.
You're the worst ! Just joking ........My advice, take your time. Learn at your own pace, bit by bit, and enjoy the process of fumbling about. Try not to get bogged down in too much extraneous advice (including mine!).
Yes, that is my aim, but I have plans to move on, and what I replace her with is always being reviewed.Stick with that Hauler until you personally feel that it's not enough for what you're trying to do. Then decide on the best course forward, based on where you are then.
That's nice to know. It certainly feels good .......I envy you, really. You're at the most fun part of the game, in my opinion.
