Yes.That procedure works for me - when not using supercruise assist which handles everything and runs the ship at a much slower speed for the whole distance.
I use SCA when I am busy cleaning the ship's cockpit windows and making coffee.

Yes, agree in regard to a TOURIST BEACON and likewise. However, is this an oversight, deliberate, or otherwise?
Maybe (dangerous word) they justignored, sorry, I'll be kinder, forgot to change the effect that small, targetted bodies like a BEACON would have.
Sorry, what is this
My thinking here is, if your are approaching a tourist beacon or similar and don't slow to 75% throttle in time, ED have design supercruise to work in such as way that the simulated control system is unable to safely slow the ship in time and so it gives up on your selected target and speeds up as if you have no target selected to navigate to.>> This is where my 'control system can't handle it' theory comes from.
It doesn't speed up, it keeps slowing down (see the numerical speed indication).ED have design supercruise to work in such as way that the simulated control system is unable to safely slow the ship in time and so it gives up on your selected target and speeds up as if you have no target selected to navigate to.

Yes! I agree. It must have been a deliberate design move by ED.I'm really clutching at straws here to try and explain why overshoot and speeding past beacons where gravity cannot be a factor happens. Frontier Developments must have had something in mind with this behaviour, as I don't think it is happening unintentionally.
Oh! I like Quain, assumed it speed up because it sounds though it does !It doesn't speed up, it keeps slowing down (see the numerical speed indication).
It's just the arrow bar indicator (and sound effect), which shows speed relative to throttle setting (horizontal line over the bar), that goes through the roof because the system cannot slow down fast enough.
That sounds a rational explanation from Zieman. The sounds of the ship and the appearance of the speed bar all combine to create the impression the ship starts to go faster, though.Oh! I like Quain, assumed it speed up because it sounds though it does !
I've never dropped out from Supercruise at a small body like a BEACON. I accept what other(s) said it did.
Now I am confused.
But if what Zieman says is right, it solves everything. ie. There is NO speeding up.![]()
Well said Quain. That sounds a rational explanation from Zieman. The sounds of the ship and the appearance of the speed bar all combine to create the impression the ship starts to go faster, though.
Is that to Zieman in Finish?Mah throttel iz schtuk. Ah kent moov. Izzit Grabbity?
Haha, no.Is that to Zieman in Finish?Mah throttel iz schtuk. Ah kent moov. Izzit Grabbity?![]()
He's a bloody American, so maybe it's Indian ......... Red Indian.Haha, no.
Looks more like Miamese or Los Angelesnese to me. Or maybe Londonese, Glasgowian or whatever.![]()
Good one.I just watched the speed indication closely as I deliberately overshot a Notable Stellar Phenomenon beacon.
Zieman has definitely got the right answer - the speed is decreasing. Perhaps all the ship noise is meant to indicate the FSD struggling to slow the ship down rather than speed it up.
Anyway, mystery solved![]()
Haha, no.

Fair dinkum ? And that's Australian.Clearly, that's Welsh
Cannot be welsh far too many vowels and two few triple and quadruple l’s.Clearly, that's Welsh
Are you talking about Indigenous Americans? It's bloody American. Emphasis on blood.
This is where I've got confused.I always hit my 75% key at 10 seconds out, because I like have a bit more time for my reactions to kick inIt works just fine for me that way.
