General Nerf Frame Shift Drive Interdictor

Here a though maybe a little practice on your part could help you instead of making it easy for everyone. This game is not Elite Hold my hand.
I didn't say anything about making it easier for everyone. If you actually read what I had wrote, you'd know that I was stating that it would be nice for people who are new to the game or trying to do community goals to have a far chance when being interdicted. Like adding a cool down and making it more of a challenge, but not too much for the person doing the interdiction. I know to submit and wake away. It gets annoying as hell to have to do this over and over like twenty freaking times before getting anywhere near the station. Maybe learn to read next time instead of just reading the title

Wait you are aware that submission and waking is SUPER fast and means you're basically gone before matey can do any significant damage.

You fight the interdiction? You die. Simple as that.

Theres people been playing for 3-5 years, they don't mess about. You are'nt going to beat them in interdictions even if FDev made it 50% easier for the target vessel, beleive me, the same result will ensue.

Go get setup, make some money, get some ships and then do some engineering, you won't survive anyway in the PvP circuit unless you have a ship thats up to the job, and even then you're going to get killed so many times you will have to ask FDev for your PvP scoresheet to find out what the number is, but eventually, after you get the ship and finish your course of gid gud pills PvP is the most rewarding aspect of the game for anyone interested in combat. You gotta work for it though, same as we all did.
Wait, you realize that submitting as someone who is pretty new to the game going against an elite means imitate death. Work for it? You mean like how most of the lame wads that have been playing this game for years taking advantage of the fertilizer bug and turning that money into cutters? Okay. Glad FDev's purged you people

Let tear down your main post.

Okay, I'm fairly new to the game of Elite. I started playing the game a little over a month ago and love it so far. There are things that do need to be fixed and i think a simple one would be to change how the frame shift drive interdictor works. I get the fact that there are people that like to gank other for really no reason. I wouldn't mind if it was to pirate me or if i was for say wanted. What i would liked changed about the interdictor is making it a little, just tiny bit (not too much) harder for the person doing the interdiction to interdict you.
You are a new player who lacks the skill of escaping interdiction and asking making it harder for an experienced player so it easier for you. Why not ask for help on the forum to practice on Interdiction together? That a better option.

i find it so easy to get away from npc's, but when faced with another player the only option seems to be to submit. If someone is new to the game like in a sidewinder (like just started for the first time) I'm sure they would find this frustrating and most likely choose to play solo instead of open.
They are skilled players. You are an unskilled player. Ask people for suggestions on how to get out away. And ask to practice with some of the experienced players, so you are more skilled vs you asking them to dumbing down Interdiction because you are still unskilled.
I like being in open with others and i would like to see more people playing in open. I do like a good challenge, but i do not like having any chance against another person that is only their to troll or grief. I think also adding a longer cool down on the interdictor would be nice too.
That not going to work. Because a lot of players play in Wings. Who practices with each other to better themselves and each can interdict you separately until you are caught.

I like there being combat in the game. i like being challenged, i just dont like being interdicted when doing a communtity goal and stand little to no chance to get away or to evade the interdiction. The friends that i have that play the game refuse to play in open simply because of this issue. I like there being some form of gankers in the game. i do believe that it should be challenging for both parties and not just the one. I would greatly like to see something about this done, though i'm sure it wont. It'd just be nice to have friends in open play with me and other players. I know there is "private" but what good is that... you might as well be saying the gankers should just play in the arena since they like to destroy stuff. Anyways, I hope maybe something could be done so that more people would feel more comfort in joining open instead of going solo or private. Thank you to any that reads this.
See this is where working as a wing comes in. If you and your friends want to play in the open you need TO PRACTICE AND MORE PRACTICE. This game does not hold your hand because you are complaining about an Experienced player interdict you.

Let not forget Engineering your ship.

I'm complaining about an experienced player interdicting me? Like how so many of these expericend players were complaing/raged quit because FDev's purged the lame wads that decided to take advantage of the fertilizer bug? I'm complaining about how these "experienced" players are taking advantage of the games flaws getting easy kills on easy to get players. That is pretty pathetic

Let look at it this way. You are trying to do community goals in a non engineered ship or lightly engineered ship and you are unskilled in combat and you are complaining. Why not work on your ship engineering and start practising with your friends. Instead of going area that too hard for you. You sound like you are trying to play Wow in a max level area while playing a level 3 character and expecting to win aginst max level characters.

If I was in your shoes. I would ask to join a group who are willing to help you and your friends address your issue. Which will require Practice. So the current problems you have will be addressed and the game does not need to be changed because of an area that too hard for you.

Thank you, clearly I didn't think about that. So how should I practice with my friends that refuse to play open play. I guess I could just always go against the easy to kill and get away from npc's.

All I would like to see is it being a bit more challenge for the person that is doing the interdiction. Not making it a whole lot easier for the person being interdicted. Do you understand? What the hell is the purpose of waking out when they'll just interdict you in a matter of seconds later. I already know to submit and to wake out. You sound like you're one those players that like easy kills, because god forbid you have a bit of challenge or respect for other and new players.

Interdictions should not be nerfed at all.

In my opinion there should be a counter to it introduced though, even if all that was is dumping a load of power into the FSD weakening the lock or stabalsing the blue circle at the expense of massive amounts of heat with the risk of a complete system shutdown on drop down to normal space if you fail. Something maybe akin to what happens when you get interdicted by thargoids, except with a bit more smoke, sparks & fire. But win & the pirate drops to normal space as per usual but also requiring a trip to a station to repair
I actually really like this idea. I'm was mainly looking for something that would add a bit of challenge to the person doing the interdiction. love this, thank you

What you should do is look at Groups, Squadrons, and Factions. Explain that you and your friend are new to the game. But you all want to learn to play. Have them help you engineer your ship for combat. Players are willing to help you. They will practice with you and point out the issue you are having. One player you might want to ask is Rubbernuke. He might give you some ideas.

I run 3 accounts One exploration so No combat in 400 billion systems a trader/Miner But I stay in a none combat zone and a combat player. Engineering a PvPer destroyer. But like I said it take practice.

I will look into it, thank you
Anyone here willing to help you. That if you ask. Another place to help you is Ships & Engineers. You and your friends are going to have to make a lot of choices. Some ships are heavy hitters but are slower. We have mid-range and smaller ships. Just go on these forums and ask questions. All I can really help you is on how to make a lot of credits fast 🤣 and make a good Exploration ship. Still working on a Combat type PvPer ship.

Engineering advices for a minigame so buggy you need to lose it to survive. Once again the open grind police is here to ensure everyone share their misery, and repeat again and again the dullest of advices.

I have played in open since the beginning of my CMDR carreer, before starter systems were patched to avoid bored grinders to phagocyte the playerbase. I have dropped my exploration data in shinrarta and flown a shildless T7 to SanTu to smuggle drugs from there to earth for month, instanced with rinzler and potter who where completely ignoring my whereabouts, while I completely ignored theirs.

Open is full of decent folks, so let me tell you how to deal with the low antitrader pretending to be pvpers or darth vadder roleplayers out there in open... Learn how to supercruise fast. Build speed fast out of the orbital plane. Stay at 5 secs ETA and spiral. Do the loop of shame because the name is stupid and you'll arrive faster at station anyway.

There, you wont have to deal with interdicters and let them play their leet blue circle minigames with someone else.

And if it fails, or they chain interdict, treat them like you do with telemarketers and block them.

You're welcome.
