Yeah but as so many times, animals are exessivly common for a reason with the african dwarf goats being that its peak perfect for a petting zoo in size, demeanour and the lack of aggression, while also bringing in the tropical and grassland biome aswell as the distinct difference in suze due to their dwarfism to differentiate them from other goats we got in game and even ungulates as the new smallest non pig.
It was nothing short of the perfect goat breed to bring to the game and frontier choose a seemingly random one which best trait is that it looks like another better goat addition.
Thats why the selction of the goat breed is such an annoyance because any kind of research into either breed would have made clear that one is a bad and the other a perfect candidate.
But hey atleast it aint british so bonus points for that

Uniqueness matters, but if there are two breeds of domestic goat and one is much more common in captivity than the other, I'd certainly prefer the one with a larger captive presence. Lots of us are real-life zoo enthusiasts (as opposed to just animal lovers) who take inspiration from the real zoos around us.

Pretending that animals have never been picked based off their captive presence is also not true--look at the wallaby, or the emu, or the prairie dog.

bit of a long one, but i hope it won’t matter. i would love to see some highly requested like the secretary bird, walrus and shoebill, but i’d also want to see some other animals like a snow owl, vultures and pelicans (if there is an aviary update coming), ibis, shetland pony, peruan squirrel monkey, spider monkey, ringtail cat, roadrunner, banteng, kea, north american tree porcupine and white winged wood duck. i have alot of ideas for fully aquatic animals aswell. aside from the obvious choices for an update like that, such as the tropical fish, which are too many to type, these animals would fit well: the eagle ray, species of sting ray, lion fish, species of shark like the leapord shark and black tip shark, barracuda, four-eyed fish and different types of cichlides. for exhibit animals leaf cutter ants, colorado river toad, striped basilisk, leopard anole and red diamond rattlesnake. for walkthrough exhibit animals fiddler crab and horseshoe crabs. i would kill for a mixed walkthrough exhibit option, because these animals can live together. some other options are the owl butterfly, as an addition to the butterfly selection, red-footed tortoise, montezuma quail, maybe a collection of small tropical birds aswell.

Loved the domestic additions even if I didn't like the specific breeds so much (more specifically the goat and maybe the shetland pony would've been better but I like the Donkey [Please add the Cross on their back])

Final look on my wishlist: With the sifaka and the baboon I got 14 out of my 25 most wanted species, after all. That's not bad considering I had quite a few very niche animals on my list.

1. Capybara
2. Leopard (any Asian subspecies, preferably Amur, Persian or North Chinese)
3. European lynx
4. Alpine ibex
5. Takin (any subspecies)
6. Tasmanian devil
7. Yellow-footed rock wallaby
8. Przewalski's horse
9. Goodfellow's tree kangaroo
10. Fossa
11. Coquerel's sifaka
12. Porcupine (crested)
13. Ocelot
14. Maned wolf
15. Common rhea
16. Black howler monkey
17. Any gibbon
18. Sika deer
19. Baboon (preferably gelada baboon or hamadryas baboon)
20. Javan banteng
21. Diana monkey (we need more smaller to medium sized monkeys and we are totally lacking colourful guenons ingame)
22. Indian blackbuck (more hoofstock especially from South Asia is always welcome)
23. Common wombat (unfortunately didn't get a spot on my 20 species list, so here it gets one)
24. Honey badger (it was a hard decision between this and the wolverine but I go for the African species)
25. Javan lutung (we need more Asian primates and a langur is missing so far).

But I have to admit that I don't fully understand every pick I made back then. I'm especially wondering why the pelican which was my most wanted species for 2024 and 2023 didn't get any spot on my list. :LOL: Also weird that there isn't any coati on my list. :D
