🐾Planet Zoo: Tropical Pack arriving 4 April🐾

Ok after sitting a little. I love the fossa, monitor, gibbon, and red river hog…. Just not in the same pack together. The pack is good but I can’t help but feel disappointed. Sloth as a WE is disappointing. I understand they’re slow but the tortoise is slow as well and coding and a tree feeder could easily solve the issues of it being on the ground to much. This genuinely has me conceded for other arboreal mammals in the future. Also not including birds for it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. WE NEED BIRDS. A lack of SA besides the sloth is very disappointing as well. No monkeys sucks but I’m glad to have the gibbon i really wanted a second one. The theme is nice to have and I’m happy to make better SEA areas

Why do I get the feeling that with every new DLC there will be some people who grumble like old ladies (regarding the choice of animals). Let's enjoy the little things, people! Some people complained about the armadillo type.... But... WE HAVE a ARMADILLO in the game. I have the same opinion about the sloth. Maybe in time other armadillos/sloths will be added (just like it was with the otter or now the gibbon or monitor).

Sorry to say this, but I am in row with the ones who are really DISAPPOINTED.
After the Update Announcement I really hoped for New World Monkeys and Coatis.
The biggest downer is that it is not an animal pack. This building pieces I will never use in my zoo. They are so over the top and fit more in an Theme Park then a zoo. If Frontier wants to do a Theme Park they should do Planet Coaster 2.

They Asian Water Monitor may look nice in the end, but there would have been so many more useful choices. Especially if we will only get 200 animals all in all.
I'm fine with the sloth, because it is better than habing none, but the other species would have been better.

As so
While I'm happy that sloths are exhibit animals (to say nothing of the species chosen, which to be clear, was a flat out mistake), it does make the koala stick out a bit more retroactively. They're two sides of the same coin in my eyes.

And I guess my current cope is that since we're obviously not getting birds in the WEs now (but why), maybe we'll get an actual proper sloth in the coming months.

I would disagree about the koala, I have seen them out and about plenty, they are fast movers, they roam for food and I got Chased by an angry breeding male once. I have seen more wild ones running alongside the road than I have in trees

Theming is a mixed bag. More stone, wood, and climbing pieces are obviously worthwhile, as is the foliage, but the overly-themed stuff feels like a throwback to earlier scenery packs, and not in a good way.

We only have a finite number of animals left to be added. It's very possibly less than 20 habitat animals at this point, and as few as 3 exhibit animals. I don't want to have to use those limited slots just to get a preferable second sloth or armadillo, when I'm not interested in having more than one and we could have just gotten a better species in the first place.

And just to reiterate, I'm ecstatic about the red river hog, fossa, and lar gibbon. I'll be getting this pack on launch day, as I have with every other since Australia. I'm not just "grumbling" for the sake of grumbling or whatever - there's both good and bad in this pack and it's fine to recognize both.

Additionally, the fact that the Lar Gibbons can brachiate on the vines there gives me hope that we might see brachiation added for other animals (Orangutans namely, and perhaps Chimps and Bonobos?). In any case, I’m delighted that we’ll finally be able to build NATURAL climbing frames for our gibbons.
These are exactly my hopes and would made the free update one of the best ones we've got so far (specially considering the Nile monitor will be able to dive too).

I must admit, I'm a little on the fence for this one... like there's nothing wrong with any of the species individually, but I feel a second gibbon and a third monitor over say... a South American monkey or new bird sp feels a bit of a let down?

Hog, Sloth and Fossa are all nice, just feel like it needs an extra bit of spice there that it's missing?

I suppose it's different if they're in the wild, but I live near one of the very few zoos in the US to keep koalas and have spent a far above average amount of time watching them compared to all of the other species at the zoo. They don't move, they've never left their trees, and I believe at least American zoo exhibits for them are generally designed with this idea in mind. Last weekend I saw one climb perhaps three feet on a branch and it was absolutely mindblowing. In comparison, the two-toed sloths I've seen and generally paid far less attention to are downright athletes.

I don't want to be ungrateful and I'm generally happy that there are still addons and that the game continues to be promoted, but I'm a bit disappointed that there isn't one bird. Through the new vivariums, the conditions are created and flying animals (bats, butterflies) are feasible. Honestly, I would have expected a bird pack just now for spring. There are two animal species that should not be missing in a zoo and that are marine animals and birds. So I hope now for a bird or from me also aquarium DLC in the summer. I think we have enough land animals by now; but that's my personal opinion. Nevertheless, I would like to thank Frontier for still promoting the game. How about a bird/sea creature pack in the summer consisting of 8 animals?

Not gonna lie but... pretty mid.

The architecture looks cool but the animal lineup is pretty meh

Lar Gibbon - Honestly after they added the siamang I didn't really care for another gibbon. I understand it was still requested afterwards but to me they are functionally the same

Asian Water Monitor - I don't know who asked for this tbh. I know Frontier likes to throw curveballs but there SO many other better choices. Again, functionally the same as the Nile monitor

Fossa - OK. This one is good. But I'm skeptical because Frontier's carnivores tend to look odd. Hopefully they knock it out of the park this time.

Red River Hog - Looks great. Helps flesh out central africa. Had they mixed in a shoebill it would have been perfect.

Sloth - Best compromise for these guys in the game.

Tropical Asia is already well represented. This could have been a great opportunity to give Oceania and South America some love. Coatis, tamarins, tree kangaroos.

Probably will wait for a sale

I want his head on the wall as a deco piece for the very last DLC...
Ahahhaha, Jesus Christ

Pack's fine. Love that Sloth is exhibit animal and love the upgraded brachiation. Also thos realistic sitting poses for Gibbon, hope to see some glimmers of their bipedal walk 😊

šŸ˜ didn't expect to already see a Trailer.
I would've loved to finally see a Habitat Turtle and a Macaw or other Bird. It would've also been a great Opportunity to give us a Fish like the Arapaima, Red bellied Piranha or Electric Eel.
I'm still liking the Selection of Animals a lot though. It was probably the best Way to include Sloths into the Game.
Also excited for the Asian Water Monitor because it isn't only a additional Reptile but also one that should definitely be able to climb in the Game. New Primates are always absolutely amazing, so I'm really excited for the Gibbon (still hoping for something like a Spider Monkey someday though) and the Red River Hog is really great for german Zoos because they seem to be way more common here than Warthogs. I'm also excited for the Fossa because slowly we get the Ability to create proper Madagascar Areas.
What I really hope for though in this DLC and Update are impressive Amounts of Foliage (and please also finally some properly sized Rainforest Trees)

Definitely I won't buy this DLC now, I ain't excited with animal choices, I'll wait for the next DLC (hopping for a best pack) and get the tropical pack in a future sale

Southeast Asia DLC was better

Instead of the Asian water lizard, I would have preferred the Blue-spotted Tree Monitor

I wonder if this is a pack, that will bring new players to the game. In my opponion there is absolutely nothing new in it.

After the last update that allowed mixed WTE I hoped we would see more of this in the future. Tamarins or small birds would have been perfect.

I'm a bit worried to see the majority of people here dissapointed.
And I am 100% sure: it is not because people WANT to grumble. If it would be a good pack, we would be more than happy to look forward to it. But it simply is a downer! The choice of animals could be much better and the building theme is ...well I said it before already.

Guys, maybe you should know that the links in the OP are kinda broken, at least it seems for me.

Thanks for this great DLC roster! I'm really looking forward to that Sulawesi traditional architecture, they may be the coolest addition to the modular building system.

Frankly I was expecting 8 animals so I'm a little disappointed.

It is on that I will buy this pack because there is my favorite animal and n'1 of my list it is the Fossa. Finally. On the other hand it is not a lizard that I really like the Asian water lizard. I would have preferred a snake like the emerald boa or another snake.
