Planet Zoo - Update 1.0.3

This is sounding like a buggy patch based on what I'm seeing here in this thread. Might hold off on playing for a bit longer.

The game isn't laggy anymore and have a lot of fix (for me). I have a big computer configuration and was supporting a lot of freeze with the game.
Now it's no too bad but you cannot do anything on franchise mode because of the price of the food way to high...
 
They'll eat from them, but it's not enough. They all still starve to death. I know there are work arounds for it, but honestly, what I believe is that I shouldn't have to work around it. enrichment feeders are for enrichment, not meals, otherwise there's no point in placing down regular feeders. I do love the game, but that whole thing is killing me, and I can't play it until it gets changed.

I guess I'm lucky that they put enough food in the enrichment feeders for my zoo. I still put down normal feeders but I don't think it is always needed. But many zoos will feed mostly in enrichment feeders over food bowls. I have a parrot and do this for her too, the only food she gets in a bowl is either messy or pellets. Otherwise all her food is hidden around for her to find or I use for training.
I do wonder if you would need more feeders for the number of animals you have if they are starving. My keepers will sometimes put more food down on the ground if there isn't enough feeder space.
 
The sandbox options are pretty good. I would rather be able to switch off individual animal needs than all of their welfare, though - the only problem I had was with exhibit space, because the area required for some species (looking at you, Komodo dragon) is absurdly large (I haven't seen that many Komodo dragon exhibits in real life, to be fair, but the ones I have seen haven't been so big that you need to view the dragons at a distance - prior to the update the only fix was making the whole exhibit long and narrow which also isn't ideal).

Additionally, I started a new Sandbox and got an inspector notification, which hasn't happened to me in sandbox mode before.

Finally, what is the functional difference between "disable death" and "disable death from ageing"? If I tick the former but not the latter, will the animals still die of old age? Do I need to tick both to prevent all death?

Lastly, in terms of these sandbox options, one thing worth looking into is the alpha system for some animals. Specifically, my wild dogs in a previous zoo bred once, then the alpha male got too old to breed, but since I had fighting disabled (still the only way to have a functional pack) no new alpha could take over. When I re-enabled fighting to let a new alpha take over to start breeding, the old dog kept on winning so no more babies were had until I sent the beast to hospice. I think there ought to be a natural transition of alpha status in this situation. If the alpha is too old to breed, then the status should automatically fall to the next fertile animal.
 
I have started a new franchise park placed the buildings and adopted gemsbok's and placed them in the exhibit. Got a few people in my park and after a few minutes all the people leaved my park and can't enter anymore.

No animals escaped.

The park is not closed
 
Anyone else have a problem with light sources like light posts not being casted on the ground ? I made a ticket for it. What happens is if you load the game you saved and it becomes night then no light is being casted on the ground. If btw i remove the lamp and then undo the removal then the light works but i would have to do this with every light everytime you reload the game. Was never an issue before this patch. It started happening after i chosen the new power everything setting.. for some reason power everything does not power light sources casted on the ground it seems. I hope this gets fixed.

Well, I can’t filter my animal tab anymore since the patch. I can choose the animal I want to filter in the list, but the screen stays empty even tough I have that animal in my zoo. Oddly it is like that for all species except cheetas. Anyone else experiencing this problem?
 
I have more bugs now than I had yesterday before the update!
New ones, actually... I just made 2 bug reports today already... : 1- species filter broken for zoo > animal tab. 2- Ridiculous toy enrichment requirement multiplication for multiple animals.
I could have made a list of less game breaking bugs, but the ticket system is laborious, not in-game and it's not one made for a work in progress (as this game shouldn’t be a work in progress). Some of it is just plain revision work to ensure coherence ( for example: using both meters and feet in zoopedia, lack of alphabetical order in the exhibit trading window, etc). Those are not huge implements but it shows the hurry to a launch.
I do love Frontier and their games, but this is a beta - one without the proper issue reporting systems. Should not have been released this early... it makes me so very sad to say so... Management at frontier dropped the ball this one – on all account, not the devs fault.
 
I'm assuming that a little song or jingle was added that plays when the challenge award is available to be collected or when it is collected.

Oh haha! I was thinking you would get some reward that was called a "fanfare". Your explaination sounds much more plausible though. Thanks!
 
very happy to see sandbox updates for power and that vandalism etc is being looked into I was also wondering if it would be possible to hire highly trained staff in sandbox so you can get it running smoother quicker?
 
So many new bugs introduced with the new update. To release animal to wild we have to do it twice almost every time because for some reason 1st time doesn't work.
When clicking on claim community reward, we get nothing almost 50% of the time.
 
Staff paths are not working correctly for me after the update. I now have guests wandering around on staff paths (and getting upset because of all of the facilities buildings I have tucked away on said paths). I also have workers who are unable to get to locations in their work zones.
 
Is there also an update for the infinite loading bug ??

Not able to play your main zoo (day1) anymore, is a huge setback for me..

I just wanted to ask the same... I was very happy to see there is an update, but loading my main zoo still failed, sadly

Hopefully there will be news on this issue soon, as it takes away the fun when you put time and effort into your zoo and then one day just not being able to load it
 
I have never had animals starve having to eat from enrichment. I don’t even have actual feeders in most of my habitats they eat only from enrichment sources.
