i've got to the anaconda a couple of times but he knocks me out almost instantly.

get to know your enemy :)
often ramming speed with blazing guns is not the key to success.

it's about patience and range ;)

Done it, started mission 10 with 100% hull
Was always too close when he first jumps in, with little hull left so didn't last long.
This time i got out of the way quick and then stalked him, finished on 100% hull as well

- only deploy hardpoints when ready to shoot and retract them after every kill
- turn off the shield generator in systems configuration (you obviously don't need it)
- do NOT go out of silentmode untill the mission is finished

if you want and have the patience, you can
- sit still
- go to silent mode as soon as scenario begins
- turn off shields and engine power in system configuration
let the heat slowly drop to zero. then turn energy power back on.this will give you a good start without using a heatsink.

lol thank you for that, I though that when I rigged for silent running it automatically switched my stuff off and that gaining heat that fast was normal.

Now I can complete it both ways sneaky and all guns blazing, cheers

Excellent decision

There is some merit in eventually turning the single player combat training scenarios into a free demo of the game btw.

I really hope they do! They could stick it on a tape or floppy cd thing on a magazine cover for a bit of a retro feel.

Joke aside, that seems like a brilliant way to get more backing and raise interest and funds for devlopement

Hi, was wondering if anyone could help me. Either my download has broken or im really being thick. Ive just got premium beta, launcher is installed but when I click "play" nothing happens. I have submitted a bug report.

Hmm...did there exactly happen nothing or did you get a "xinput1_3.dll Error" on the first try?

if its the latter:
If you find this file is missing when trying to launch the game initially there is a fix. This is not Alpha/Beta issue but a DirectX issue. It's a DirectX dll file and running the "DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer" from Microsoft solves the issue.

Congratulation cmdr.

For me, the Cobra reduce my hull to 50% almost every time :(
He fly away and when he come back he shoot me down...
I try to boost my engine but no success at all :.(
I definitively can reach wave 8

When the enemy hammers you divert power to shields. If you want to follow Cobra as close as possible - divert power to engines, use boost when available.

Seriously? 'pay-to-win'? Seriously?
His name is DeJay...

They have said that the universe will be reset when the game launches so noone will have a head start on anyone else, so i really can't see any Pay to Win. Cheaper insurance Isn't gonna help you win dog fights or make money trading :-/

Hey what does retracting the hardpoints between kills do? Is your heat signature larger with them deloyed even when not firing?

- Cheers

Really? When was that? Last I had heard, they were NOT planning on wiping before launch if they could avoid it, as a thank-you to the backers.

Of course, that might have changed, but...

As I understand it, the reset situation is:

Alpha 4 - reset
Beta - numerous resets when needed.
Beta-to-Gamma - reset
Gamma-to-release - no reset unless they discover a breaking exploit.

That's pretty much been their position from the start, even before the announcement of a Gamma phase.
