COMPLETED CG Protect the Alliance's expansion into the Coalsack Nebula from Thargoid attack (AX Combat)

I only just made 10%, in style.

Was on 25% @ 75,600,000, undocked to squeeze in one last kill. Undocked, but realised I forgot to repair with 49% hull left. Figured there wasn't enough time, so I decided to go for one kill instead of two, and fit out Standard Shard Rounds, just in case. Got the kill in with 200m to spare on the clock, which bumped me to top 10%.
So it was you who kept pushing me out of the top 10%!
Hitting 10% was quite hard this CG...then last night, around the same time you got into top 10% I dropped 16m of thargoid kills to put me at 80m in total. 2 mins later the CG completed :D

How? There is no outfitting...or am I missing something?
 
CG text said by the 21st - normally they arrive on the Friday. Given we finished so early they could choose to give us the module once they've processed the wins. But best not to complain until the 22nd :)
 
Five Cyclops and a few scouts only got me top 50%.

I hadnt killed a Cyclops in a long time. A bit absent from the game this year... It seemed a bit easier.

I'm not saying that giving rewards to only the top 25% encourages pushing for the end - but giving rewards to only the top 25% encourages pushing for the end :)

(you'd expect Sunday to be slightly larger than Saturday, but both CGs look like they would have been massive (though of course in that case there would have been less cause to rush :) )
wow I didn't expect the protect CG to finish last night, I thought it might have been tonight it ended. That is quite the push near the end.

Went to bed last night and there was still a few billion left to go, glad i killed enough to keep me in the Top 10%.

Now can we PLEEEEEAAASE get something involving AXCZs soon?
It's the only kind of combat scenario i haven't had a chance to try out (jumped on the AX train far too late) and everything I've read about them sounds like a lot of fun.

P.S. According to INARAs stats the top contributor earned over 500,000,000cr in combat bonds, what kind of Thargoid killing machine makes over half a billion in under 4 days?!?

How much help would a carrier be in a Thargoid killing CG?
You can choose a less crowded system to fight in, and still have faster and more convenient repair and restock, ability to swap loadouts efficiently, great for emergency damage recovery. Also faster bonds delivery if you have the module and are not in the CG hub system. All this means you can get back to fighting 'goids faster, allowing for the possiblity of more kills/session.

It also likely makes squadron and wing logistics simpler, but that's an assumption on my part.

I agree Top25 is a bit rough, I just killed 5 Cyclops, which is only a quarter of what you'll need to top25 presumably.

@SCiARA pretty sure people are hedging their bonds a bit, because the reward isn't too shabby.
Also no AX CZs make it a bit more difficult to rack up high numbers.
I predicted roughly 40 million for Top25%, looks like it turned out to be 38.
I managed half of that :confused:
 
I'am quite proficient at killing bugs, and I made it easily into top 25%, but for 90% of players getting there was just impossible as the CG lasted for a bit more than 3 days. I think the reward should be given to Top 50%. After all I don't think anyone at Frontier expected the CG to be done so quickly.

There could be a mechanism implemented that the CG lasts a minimum amount of time regardless of the contribution. Not every CG but some of them could.
