Pulse Wave scanner issues after update 12

I've given up waiting for this to be fixed. Five pages of players reporting should be enough of an indicator that this is an issue that needs attention; the voting should be superfluous.

I'm out in the black with a FC in Odyssey, but mine for tritium in Horizons.

Glad I found this thread...

I too am out in the black with my FC and like to do a bit of tritium mining from time to time to break up exploration / scanning.

In Odyssey yesterday in a tritium hotspot managed (with much frustration) to get 38 tons. Not a lot of glowing yellow rocks, and quite a few that were after prospecting had nothing at all. Today, after re-downloading Horizons, same hotspot, 120 tons. Loads of glowing rocks and every one had some tritium. Took about one minute to figure out the graphical differences between versions. Will be doing all further mining in Horizons.

Much more fun. much less frustration, and games should really be fun...

Ye well, still works in Ody just different. Inside trit spot start to search glowing rocks with cores by methods from above in post.
This deep core rock most likely (like 7 of 10 stones) will have 2 - 4 points to mine tritium by drill rocket, so you can get 10 - 30 t from the single rock.

I hope they fix this issue in the U14 release, because after U14 there will be two separate instances: the "new" Horizons/Odyssey and the old "legacy" Horizons, so it is no longer possible to mine Tritium in "old" Horizons and use it in the Odyssey...

The status of the issue is acknowledged, so it looks like they know it's a bug...
I wonder if it's an Odyssey "feature" or if it will be present also on Horizons 4.0. I guess from tonight we will find it out. If it is present also in Horizons 4.0, then they have screwed up mining completely until they decide to fix it.

I suppose the issue tracker automatically switch a reported issue to acknowldeged status when enough players contribute. I think that does not mean that FDev staff is fully aware of it and has initiated a process to solve the problem.

Horizons 4.0 allready has the same issue which is not a surprise to this user as its the same exact engine...
Core mining becomes stupidly easy after ~ 20km... in horizons 4.0
Subsurface becomes 100% RNG on a normal prospector spray after ~20KM... you can still get given a tritium egg with 4 SSD but its random while laser mining...
In a laser mining run still got 4 SSD rocks 4, 3, 2, 3 SSD rocks...
This wil be the normal until fixed...

So, back to Odyssey for mining - tried it yesterday.

Tritium hotspot, managed 90 tonnes (as opposed to 155 tonnes previously in Horizons) and I'd say took a bit longer. Not dreadful but not good and definietely not as much fun. Did find a few core asteroids that had a few SSD's of tritium, but nowhere near as fruitful as Horizons was. Quite a few false positives of brightly glowing rocks that were definitely not reflections that when prospected had nothing at all, and I don't mean no tritium, I mean nothing, and on plenty of occasions where there appear to be rocks with just reflections there is definitely no source rock in the vicinity.

It does seem that now sometimes a rock will continue to glow even when you are close where previously they didn't, but I also notice rocks switching on and off as you get closer, as in some that did glow now don't and some that didn't suddenly appear to.

Anyway, nowhere near as good or as reliable as Horizons was and ultimately for that it's less fun. Guess I'll continue to mine from time to time to top up my carrier, but now it's more of a chore than a fun activity.

Was surprised this did not blow up as big as expected on the mining reddit..
Users in deep space may not even have the correct items on FC to build the correct laser and SSD combined miner unit...
With many booting the game at update 14 for the first time in a while and they have this issue getting fuel...

All that matters is the thargoid war.
All thargoids and no thargoids make a thargoid dull. . All thargoids and no thargoids make a thargoid dull. . All thargoids and no thargoids make a thargoid dull.
