When I had mine, I found the Biweave shields drained to quickly and I went back to A.
I just bought the Python last week and I love it. It's currently my main HAZ RES combat ship while I work to fully upgrade her. Until now All my ships were small and fast with the one exception being the Clipper, which is big but still pretty fast. I'm still getting used to the slower ship's style of flight but the boost speed on my current build more than makes up for its turning circle. (If only the Cobra MK IV would learn from it's big sister)
I'm sure I'll end up fully A grading this ship since all the other ships in my fleet A grade but I'm quite happy with my C grade Python atm.
Is the black paint job the only one which covers the whole ship?. I bought a paint pack for my Python but the nose and certain other parts remain the stock grey shade in all four colours.
Sounds about right with the CZs. I don't bother with them much nowadays (unless I'm testing a build). You can make much more much faster in a Haz Rez.Well, just spent a merry half hour or so shooting stuff up in a low CZ, with my mission-build; so it's not full on battle mode. Net gain about half a million

I took the belly laser off and fitted 2x C3G beam instead, which are great at taking down shields. Using 3 pips to weapons and 1.5 each to shield and engine, I can fire the beams until I get a temperature warning, more or less. Certainly plenty of power. The multis are nice for chewing up smaller hulls at close range, I like those cos they have a massive ammo stock, you have to fight for AGES to run out.
I lost shield twice, both times against a Python (NPC, since I'm playing solo) and had to boost out of the zone to recharge - the second time was carelessness - hit the SCB too late, might've got away with it had I been more on the ball. The C6 bi-weave is commendably fast to recharge though. On the Python, starting at around 40%, one hit of the B4 SCB peaks at about 90% heat, if not firing lasers or anything to make extra heat, which is do-able. I prefer the B shield banks, although the individual charge is lower you get 5 instead of 4 and so the total possible recovery is higher than the equivalent A.
Kinda thinking I'll put D3 hull re-inf on, although those hull things are a con, 2x D2 add up to more extra armour than 1x D4 (unless the stats lie) and are half the weight besides - but they're enormously cheaper than military hulls.
Adding more heavyweight shield/weapons would run you into needing the top spec A7 power plant which is eye-wateringly expensive, costs almost as much as the ship. I could put the regular C6 on easily, and maybe the A6. Prismatic would definitely need the top power plant and I doubt it's worth it TBH. Upping the base shield would allow removing some boosters, mind, and still achieve better shields, but then a fairly rubbish ship with a railgun and a skilled pilot can take out most shields in any case.
No, that's my Clipper. I'll think one up though.Just entered the Python Owners Club last night.
Feels sluggish compared to my A-rated FAS. But I know that will change with time.
You guys have some pretty interesting/focus'd builds.
Anyone have a Python build for doing just a little bit of everything?

Been a member of the Python Owners Club for a few weeks now and I keep going back to my Asp Explorer. I really like the feel of the Python but the jump range is a real buzz kill. Still, I love the expansive bridge and the feeling of flying a true naval vessel. For the time being, it makes a fine flagship for my budding, little fleet.

That one looks like it's the pirate skin. Here's midnight:Whats that paint job called and what did you do to qualify for it?. I bought a paint job for my Python but none of the 6 colours cover the whole ship like yours does, the nose cone and some other parts stay the default grey colour. I thought the only complete colour was the black one given to beta buyers.
