I back in the Python club. When I Payed for the Python I only had 80k credit left. I guess I love risks. I sold cargo space to gain more credit so I can get a few lasers and Fuel scoop to protect my home world.

Note I also a Iron Man. 1 Life and no escape pod. I only do combats until I am Elite. Then I start trading.

I got my Python months ago as an intermediate step towards larger trading vessels, and parked it as soon as I got the T9. I never sold it as I did see some potential for great things with it. Yesterday I finally picked it from the shipyard and dumped 100 million credits on it to turn it into a PvE combat ship. All of the weapons and both SCBs were 30% discounted at LFT 37. The rest I got it at one of the Li Yong Rui systems with a 15% discount.

This is my setup, I have not tested it in combat yet. Any comments will be greatly appreciated. Tactics too, I've used a Vulture for combat and I can only pressume fighting with the Python is very different.

Looks almost like my setup. For PvE i run 5 x Beam Lasers. It's a dream. No need to recharge if you got a great instance at a RES. And the beams plug holes like ... awe soooome

Just fire the beams to 95% heat and use the cooldown phase to realign behind enemy. I can take out Pythons in 60 seconds (not 100% measured).

Just got the military grade armor. Slows the turns a bit down. Bit good to habe max amor.

I did consider this to avoid restocking completely, or even using 2 turreted pulses in the medium hardpoints. I will give all of those options a try. I'm not 100% sure about the Heat sinks vs Chaff, I've gone with Heat sinks because of the SCBs, but will probably end up using Chaff.

I can't see the need for heat syncs if using 6a SCB's from 50-60% heat you only spend a few seconds over 100% heat then so long as ur not firing for a few seconds u cool back down real quick

I would love to see this prototype (artwork) of the

Python Super Class Cruiser

in the game! I would love to have such a Python - It should be a superior super heavy cruiser with awesome firepower and shields and speed. This would be an honorable Milennium Falcon for Elite.

What do you think guys?

I think I just want my MKII tbh :D follow my footer and support plz :)

How is the Python for hull tank at a RES/Military Strike? I've found a station close so taking a break and reloading doesn't cut too much time away. In my shield tank FDL with 1 large turrent beam laser and 4 multi cannons I can plow through npc and rake merits pretty quickly. I wanted to try a python loadout like this and see if I could grind merits faster. 2 large turrent beams should shred through shields pretty quickly without generating heat or draining the capacitor, and the cannon/multi cannons should grind the hull just as fast. The armor seems pretty close to FAS for tanking, which I have not tried:

It's great, but I think it's WAY bigger than the Millenium Falcon!

Go for 2 x heat sinks in combination with 2 x 6A SCBs. You hardly need Chaffs. But SCNs are important as well a too cool down the system.

The Beams heat is not a problem as you can stop firing at will but the SCBs are critical.

I am a big fan of the Python as well. My closest thing to a gripe is that for combat it has been relegated to a fairly strict PVE regime. It can work OK in a wing (though there are better choices) but aside from that, forget it. Still, it's a very nice multipurpose so long as you only engage NPCs.

My only gripe is I never got to fly it pre-nerf :(

I love the Python and she kicks posterior in RESes. My only beef with her is that while she's decent at pitching at 50% speed, her 100% speed pitch is really REALLY bad. So if you're ever in situations where you have to give chase, you have to quickly slam the breaks when you reach them or they'll quickly out turn you.

I stored my Python for now (no chance I'll ever sell her ... she's too good and I got her at 30% off), and I'm flying around with the Fed Dropship. Worse weaponry and shields, but she has a really good high speed turn (3rd best in game after the FAS and Asp Scout), so I can fly her at full speed all the time.

Right there with ya buddy, chopped mine in for a 30% one just in time, for that and that alone she will always remain by my side but I'm considering the FAS as another "option" so BHing isn't so samey, that or an FDL, I miss wizzing about since upgrading from a vulture, even tho I love the raw firepower, just wish they would un-nerf it by a lil at least, I have good pip management with fa-off n boost when I need it but it's just not the same :(
