No, others have also said they enjoy it. And that's fine. Because you wouldn't have to use a bearing calculator if you didn't want to - you could do it manually still.
I like knowing how to. But just as I know how to read a map, it's much more convenient to use GPS. Sometimes I do still look at a map as it gives me a better idea of the area. But if I just want to get somewhere, I put the postcode into the GPS...
