Re: Python Frustrateables

I guess I'm a grinder then. I earned broker rank from courier missions only. It took many many hours of endless going back and forth between ochosi and chapka. I'm still stuck in a rut regarding a lot of the games potential. I've never shot a laser cannon. I've never mined. I've never cargo scoopered. I've never interdicted anyone. I've gotten where I am now through slow repetitive courier missions. I've lost my python 3 times and grinded the money back. Every now and again I've done some passenger missions but didn't realise about the red warning and got well and truly hammered for carrying illegal pax. I'm yearning to get into the mining and combat at some point.
I’ve spent a good chunk of time up at Chakpa too. It’s a good spot that...

Kind of envy you getting to learn all the various activities again.

At some point (hopefully soon) you’ll have put a little fleet of well made ships together and feel settled. Then you can start branching out into other areas of the game that you haven’t tried...

Knowledge is power in this game. If you hang around here for long enough you’ll potentially be able to restart the game in the Sidewinder and get back to the position you’re in now (with the half built Python) in just an evening of play...

Its one of lifes lessons. If you work hard you can reap the rewards but I feel like I've not worked hard enough to learn where others have flourished. Yes I have the patience of a Saint but I love the fact I can start over in a new ship. My biggest issue is getting uninterrupted time. It doesn't take much when the family are wanting time for this and that. Trying to make time for elite is also important

OP are you talking actual range or by chance are you talking map plotting with "economical" on? One of my Pythons is a frakk'n tank and gets am embarrassing 38. Maybe some drunk on the outfitting crew left all his empties in the engineering spaces.

It's funny how many of you complain about gankers in open then post the most horrible builds with the excuse that they're pve only. Pve builds can still be rock solid. Not to be rude but there's a lot of garbage builds being posted here.

My inexperience and lack of knowledge has led to my map being on economical since day 1. Therefore all jumps were small star to star not in the straightest line but zig zag ask over the place. I just thought this was the norm. Now I know different I will be applying all I have learnt over the last few days to my elite travel ethic. I'm searching for a system where I can buy a 5A FSD so far I've been unlucky and only finding 5D ones. I'm going to try the Google search unless someone knows a resource for core module manifestos at stations etc so rather than the searching through each station I can go directly to one. I've yet to do a search on here but once I've posted this I will head over to the magnifying glass

Thank you
When looking for the best gear:-

Open galaxy map and use its filters to look for economy/high tech. The starports in these systems will have what you want 80-90% of the time.

A quicker way is to use the website EDDB (elite dangerous database) and select stations->modules (5a fsd)->reference system(enter current system). This will provide a list of all the systems closest to your location that have what you need.

You were using the economical routes then? 😊 Still catches people out that one...

Edit: Also, ninja’d ^

I'm terrible for discovering things in games without instructions in writing. Unless it is 3d design software like max maya blender etc that's where my pervious life was but its a distant memory now. Elite dangerous is my child hood dream come true but I didn't realise the scope of this game. Being on earth occasionally I felt small like an ant but inside elite dangerous I truly feel small. The game is incredibly big. I'd go as far to say that because we inhabit it virtually and have access to it is actually bigger than our own physical universe because we as mere mortals only have access to planet earth and not much of it. Being able to fly out beyond our solar system using VR the ultimate illusion is feel yourself being somewhere else which I get in elite dangerous. The game is so big that I don't have enough life left in my aging body to ever get to the centre of our galaxy but I will try.. Something I could never do on earth. Two universes have collided here and being able to drift in and out of both just gets me fired up.. And now I'm meeting some amazing people who have been so helpful and kind. Life is good again.. No longer do I have to go trawling for parts. Buzzing

Ha! Nice!

The galaxy will get smaller (a wee bit) once you get into the game more and fix up your ships for efficient traveling.

You often have to make your own goals. If you want to get to the centre of the galaxy then you don’t need to spend weeks grinding credits for a task like that, a Hauler with the right kit will get you there perfectly well, though I do strongly recommend something more robust.

We’ll get you over to SagA though, no problem! It’s kind of a rite of passage for all ED players...

Maybe tackle a sightseeing tour or two first though yeah? And let Farseer take a look at your FSD.

And learn to open your cargo hatch... 👍🤣

Thanks.. I look forward to the minions going on holiday this year.. A couple of weeks without much responsibility and annual leave and a bit of "oh I feel really poorly I can just about sit at the computer" still certainty help me get to centre of Galaxy lol

Yeah, I battle those problems daily also... 😊

Going to leave you a quick link here...

The chaps here will answer ANY questions you care to ask, they’ve helped myself and countless others get started over the years.
It still tends to be one of the best parts of the forums. Much less sarcasm and pointless PVE/PVP arguments...🙄😊

Paxton, in view of your other thread, I don't "like" you, as much as you can't like someone in a virtual reality, no physical contact environment.

Be that as it may, I'm a Python flyer, got 2, one is a traderer other is a PvP combat basta...ship.

The traderer is A rated, G5 engineered, 5 MC's (although I do use Packhounds too), 4 SB, 6A rated G5 Prismatic shields, MRP, HRP, A rated-G5 DD Thrusters, A rated G5 FSD, carries up to 200T(with 5A G5 prismatics), mil spec hull, jumps 27-31LY. I also use the Git Good Trader advice from Rinzler, search utube, follow the instructions. It has a snowflake warning level 7 but you will not die if you follow the path.

D rated Life support and sensors, eng'd for lightweight.

Flies like a brick on a skateboard, good with FA off, hits hard, does just under 500mps with boost. Probably the best traderer ship in the game.

Edit, I fly exclusively in open, home base is SD.

Grouchy wouchy I can't believe I've been so stupid. I've dived into this game without asking for any help in the beginning. I hope folks can learn from my doing that. Don't just spend maximum amount of money on everything. Initially I purchased top dollar everything only to find im out of pocket and not going anywhere fast. A RATE FSD AND D EVERYTHING ELSE.. I will do that tonight and report back my results.
Learn from you? I think I pioneered some of those moves myself. I have a good array of mistake rated drives and such that have been engineered to almost be as good as stock A rated.

Good skills.. How do you tweak things. I used blue print and purchased until it was complete but I didn't see any settings where I could turn things up or down.. It was just purchase this and that's it
