Here’s my grid running on Nexus 7. It’s just one page, so no scrolling. I’ve bound the rest of the functions to X52Pro and VoiceAttack in my setup. This is a work in progress, but I still wanted to share since I got so many ideas from this forum.

My idea was to make a design that’s easy to customise (no icons). Instead of using icons, I’ve divided the functionalities in four different categories with colour coding. I’ve also used size to emphasise the most common or most crucial actions.

Gray: Non-gameplay
Orange: Critical combat
Red: Combat targeting
Blue: Misc
Magenta: Galaxy map

You’ll have to bind the grid to your own shortcuts.

love the powergrid. Use it as my right-hand panel with a Logitech G13 gamepad on my left. Those plus X52 HOTAS and pedals means I NEVER have to touch a keyboard :)

I'll be honest. Used to love the powergrid...and then I found voice attack. :)

Thought about getting VA - and still might. had "Voice Commander" back in the day but speech recognition was just not ready yet for it to take off.

I don't know but I feel like VA would take away from the experience. I like the tactile experience of pushing buttons and stuff...

New Power Grid set up

Hi all,

First post here but thought I would post a link to my Power Grid for ED.

Its set up as a portrait ipad panel.

As usual you will have to tweak the keyboard shortcuts/macros to suit your set up.

All the icons were made specifically by me.... there are a few extra ones in the package too that scroll onto a second page so you can tweak the set up to suit your need.

Hope you like it.

Hey Guys here's our first part in the Power-Grid Power User video series.

This video is about landscape mode as well as button sizes and directories.

http://youtu.be/CoqjNx5PNqg

We are going to diving into the Plug-in files in the next video, this is a primer really to get people started.

Next video we will be releasing a advanced controls grid with toggle buttons, rotatory knobs, levers etc. These plug in controls can be used by you guys in custom grids with your own graphics, you will just have to point the grid to the graphics in the JSON files (But I'm getting ahead of myself)

Anyways I hope you guys enjoy the video. :)

An offline mode would be great for when we have server issues, this however is very rare. It's not something we can see changing in the near future. We will be looking into this for Swarm though.

Oh man, nice purchase!

Using the SDK and Talk FX you could even get the Ryos to perform lighting effects when you push button specific buttons on your grid. If you guys are interested we could have a look at this for those of you with ROCCAT Talk FX products.

I see that you have chosen to use a photograph that I put in this thread of my device running my powergrid design within your promotional material and as the thumbnail for the video itself. I'm happy that people think so highly of my designs but what would've been nice is if you'd asked before stealing my image for your promotional material.

I'm sure that your T's & C's state that any design created in Roccat by the community can be used to promote Roccat, but that does not include photography that we take of our devices, in our own property. Just because Roccat software is shown in the image does not mean you own it. You could have taken my design from the Roccat software and put it on a stock image of a tablet that you'd purchased, that would be within your rights to do so.

I would not have minded if you'd asked first, or if you'd given credit where credit was due in your promotional video, but you've done neither.

The general perception of people taking any images they damn well please, regardless of Copyright, to promote their products is something that is rife in this world and the attitude stinks.

Hi Andrak,

I got your email.
Again, my apologies. I thought I would share my reply here as well to clear up any confusion and mainly to extend my apology out to the rest of the community. Like I said in this email, you raise a good point and it was an oversight on my part, I really should have touched base with you all before using pictures of your grids in the Tutorial Video. My intention was to promote the amazing work you were all doing in power-grid and answer many of the questions power-grid users had in these forums.
Still I should have asked.

I am going to credit you all with annotations and credit you all in the description of the video with links to your hosted grids on the Power-Grid site so people can download your grids to try for themselves. If I miss any of you please PM me and I'll sort it out.
Andrak, I can't find your grid on the Power-Grid website. I've credited you in the Description, I can point people to the grid you hosted or to your website, whatever you prefer. Also the thumbnail was autogenerated so I manually uploaded a new thumbnail now.

Sincerely sorry if I upset any of you, I'll be more careful in the future.

Marc

Added another grid to Roccat download site. This one a further extension on gummy35's work which was in turn based on a brilliant design by Telnet.

I like the landscape view but preffered all the buttons to be singles, so I can fit more actions in.

Link: Elite Dangerous Landscape Single

I subsequently made a slight edit to this design. I swapped Prev Group for weapons to Deploy for weapons. Generally there are only two or three fire groups so having two buttons to choose between them was redundant. Also, once the fight is over, I can press Deploy to put the weapons away.

Latecomer to the thread, but have run into a problem: as of today it's beta day for horizons, and Power Grid isn't working. It works fine with every other input. Works with my music player, it's connected. I hit the galaxy map button, the letter "m" appears in text editors. But nothing is working in-game. No response from anything in the game client itself. Thoughts? Suggestions?

UPDATE: Actually the easiest way would be to map the keyboard M key to galaxy map here:

Not sure if this has been changed in the latest ED patch or not.
I made a small test grid today and Power-Grid works. M didn't bring up the galaxy map from the keyboard either for me using the default controls, Maybe it's been remapped to make way for new controls? You could also make a Map macro for the Power-Grid control. 1, SPACE

If the map button is no longer working on the grid you are using you can
click on the button in the editor.
Change the function to assign macro

http://imgur.com/8OcPcLh

click new macro
name your macro
Then record the input you want to map, making sure record delays delays button is checked.

Or you can simply paste this code into the Makro-code box

d1;160; u 1;81,d SPACE;120; u SPACE

If other controls have been remapped ingame you can use workarounds like this to get them to work. Hope this helps :)

I have made a few, this is my latest one, it is horizontal and has two pages designed for use on my Nexus 7. It has sounds attached to the buttons but I'm not sure if they are in the download pack as I couldn't quite figure out if I had packaged them with the upload.

As with all of these packages if you decide to try it please ensure the buttons are set to the same as you use in game, I will not be held responsible for you ejecting 50 tons of cargo when you try to set silent running... :):):):)

For the request docking to work you need to do two things..
First set up your left side panels to the keys I use in the macro which are:
UI panel left - numpad 1
UI panel down- numpad 3
UI panel select- numpad 4
Next panel- numpad 2
Prev panel- numpad 5

Secondly in game when you are approaching a station target it so it's image shows on your left hand hud.

The Tracker button just re-centres my EDTracker device.

Thank you so much for sharing your excellent work Commander!! I like it a lot! :)

Hello! Excellent work, tested for iPads - everything works. Any plans to change the grid for the horizon?

Can't believe how late I am to this party! The old G-tab (which even after a root and flash to jellybean was always a bit meh) had done nothing but gather dust for about 3 years. On a whim I dug it out and it's just perfect for Elite, had a real hoot testing it out until mumble o clock this morning.
Work in progress, but every button works. Also chuffed with my elegant stand - a Colman's Mustard tin and a stick, secured with 1/2 mile of Union Flag Gaff tape.

I don't really see the point of going through all the work to use your smartphone as a controller, when there are already tons of free macro programs you can use to do the same task faster and more efficiently.
