Roccat Power Grid

OK, I have teh stoopid - tablet is a wireless connected device but main workstation is wired ethernet (separate channels). There's a USB connector on the tablet for managing the memory/storage that plugs in to the workstation.
How can I make the wired connection able to see & get input from the tablet? It's got to be something simple; in this thread I've seen multiple tablets set up to a (probably) wired workstation. What am I missing?

If both tablet and PC have internet access it should work IIRC? (I haven't tried that configuration)
The PC downloads the control-app's server software and runs it in the background, the tablet wirelessly connects to the internet and then accesses the server on the wired PC via the internet. It takes button presses and sends them to the server, which reproduces them as keypress input for the game. There might be some extra firewall adjustments necessary if they're not both on the same LAN, but should be possible.

Sorry, but what is LEA?...

I hadn't heard of it either - here's what I found: https://www.leaextendedinput.com/

In the mean time I've updated my PowerGrid setup for 2.2/fighters, to have two grids - normal and fighters:

4Doix6F.jpg
and
c00X2DF.jpg

They can be downloaded from here. I've also included the keyboard assignments/mappings I've set up. Obviously feel free to do your own thing!

In case you're wondereng about the F1 and F2 - I use the excellent ED-tracker via a OpenTrack. This gives me three axis of movement, with F1 and F2 acting as descibed - (head) lock is a toggle.

Hope this helps - enjoy. Any questions/problems just PM me.

e: Just noticed the differing order of Systems/Weapons/Engine icons at the top - oh well, easy enough for you to fix if it bothers!

Greetings fellow commanders,

I would like to introduce to you my personal Power Grid that I created.

http://www.roccat.org/en-US/Products/Gaming-Software/Power-Grid/Store/Grids/Games/Simulation/834/

All buttons have active graphics which make them light up in green upon pressing them.

Some of the buttons were created with toggle functionality in mind but unfortunately I was not able to really make that happen. There is a toggle-plugin and an instruction video but that didn't help much.

If anyone has any idea on how to efficiently work with toggle switches in Power Grid, I would love to hear from you =)

Two things I just wasn't able to do:

1) add new custom toggle switches instead of just changing the existent ones

2) change the size of the switches so that my toggle switches could be 2x1 squares instead of just 1x1

I created the grid for my personal use but I would be glad if someone likes it just as much as I do and uses it himself, so enjoy =)

How in the holy hell do I create and plug-in grid with both plugin buttons and normal buttons and then export it with the name I want. Please do not direct me to the Roccat Power user tutorials as this only shows how to alter an existing grid by changing the names of some of the toggle switches and graphics. No use to someone wishing to make their own not overwrite a grid that may be already present.

I have searched every forum and tutorial I can find but can't find any method for doing this.

Please, please, please can anyone help!

Thanks

PS. I have a really good grid for ED ready to go but I can't for the life of me figure out how to share it!!! See photo.ED-Flight Control Panel.jpg

I'm not saying this is the best way, but how I did it was to select individual grids and 'Save Grid As' <filename>.json files, and upload them in a zip.

I never quite got confident with the package import/export - ymmv

Whilst I really like PowerGrid, I found it as user-friendly as a cornered rat.

p.s. great looking grid... let me know where you upload it - cheers!

Thanks Comrade/Henry. But exporting the grid is not really my issue. But I can't figure out how to export the plugin part so that is has the name of the panel e.g."Flight Panel Part2" and doesn't overwrite the "toggle" plug that somebody else may have already installed.

However if you have not already got "toggle" plugin installed then this will work fine.

In short I can only name the thing "Toggle".

I've only ever used native elements in PowerGrid, and your screen looks considerably more complex than anything I've attempted. Apologies in advance as I strongly suspect you'll have tried both of these...

Does renaming the export/plugin help (outside of PowerGrid) - e.g. literally rename the file?

If not, is there a way of saving away solely the toggle element using 'save as', giving it your own name, and re-importing and using in your grid?

I'm probably not helping... so good luck!

I fancy doing this.

Do you need the SDK to create a grid?

When I tried to download the SDK I got a 404 error. Anyone know where else I can get it?

I just bought one of these instead:

22 buttons right at my finger tips, and 4 different modes, for a total of 88 finger-tip functions, that can be configured to change the backlight color as well to easily recognize which mode you're in, and the little LCD display has a nice clock app so I know how long ago I should have gone to bed.

I've been using one for about 18 months - they're awesome.
I keep thinking about setting up my Hotas, but the keypad is just so convenient that I don't bother.

assigning ROCCAT

hi guys and girls, this is probably going to sound stupid, bear with a silver surfer here, how do assign the Roccat to the game controls?

Looks cool. But how do you remember which button does what? The whole point behind the Power-Grid is that it is a graphical interface that removes the need to have to remember key bindings. I think you are replacing one keyboard with another. Good luck to you. But I'll stick with my Power-Grid.

There are plenty of tutorials for this one. It's pretty easy to setup basic key bindings. I would check YouTube first.

hi there,
using RPG my ios tells me that soon IOS would not support that latest yet out of date version of RPG anymore. bummer!

anyways im looking for having a RPG macro calling windows TTS to read its macro string or even call for an EDDI string. any expirience and examples apprichiated!

ROCCAT scares me, I bought a mouse off them and every now and then the mouse driver shouts encouragement at me based on the total number of times I've clicked or scrolled. It can be a bit startling at 3am.

Nice mouse though.
Strange. I clicked on the staff post icon for this thread and it took me to Ben Parry's message. I thought he was working on Star Citizen?
