Show us your interesting discoveries!

That sound you just heard was my scanner yelling "make it stop!"
I wonder how many moons a planet can have...

Alright, just got back from a trip, here are a few things I thought were neat:

5 GG's all hanging out together
Screenshot_0615.jpg

This is an ELW with a terraformable WW as a neighbor. The pair to the right are also both terraformable WW's. Nice little system.

An ELW in a trinary with a couple of HMC's

This is probably the largest AW I have ever personally found. 5.24 G's, yikes!

To finish of this part, I thought this GG looked pretty unique.

One more post to follow...

Found a system with 2 NSP's, this is the first one I went to. Both were in the same ring.

The second one, Found this little guy floating around:
Screenshot_0709.jpg

Look at him, kinda cute in a weird way; just farting his way through space:

So naturally, being Elite: Dangerous I shot him with the largest gun I had:

Don't worry, he was okay!

Next up is a little series of pictures of a hot Jupiter. I could see it as soon as I entered the system. it was 34 ish LS away from the main star also orbiting extremely close to a brown dwarf.

So many more things I could post about... I'll leave it there for now.

As always I love this thread! Great shots around! I wanted to share my latest discovery a “hot Jupiter“ which clocked in at just 3.8 ls from the parent star. It’s the closest I’ve ever found. The gas giant is a large class V and it was stunning to jump into with the giant off to the right.

Поджарка! Скромный AeBe внутри зоны совка класса B. давайте просто скажем, что я немного подпрыгивал и вилял, когда он сказал "бу" паникующему пилоту.

When I get back and turn in but at 35k out and another 25k on the route out that might be a couple months.

Just curious how did you find this. Was it using the FSS or did it appear on the Nav Panel?

Funny you ask because that one happened in a bit of a strange way. Normally Notable Stellar Phenomena appear on the FSS towards the lower end of the spectrum (opposite side from Gas Giants). I have found NSP's in the past and I have always noticed the signal so I knew I had found one before actually scanning it with the FSS. In this particular case I do not remember seeing the signal on the FSS before scanning, both signals appeared after scanning the plant whose ring they were located in. There's a chance I just didn't notice the signals when I started scanning but I usually have a decent eye for those things. I have also never located a NSP in a virgin system before within a planet's rings, I have only ever found Proto-Lagrange clouds in virgin systems prior to this so I am not sure if this is normal or not for this particular kind of NSP.

So in short, these do appear in the FSS then after you scan it you can find it in the Nav panel.

Looking for fast spinning neutron stars is a little bit of a hobby of mine now, when out in the black. Have a bunch of them bookmarked now. For people who have never seen one of those, just trust me - overcharging your FSD with one of these is a bottom clenching experience :) I like to call them neutron annihilators.
