Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

Btw for the pass did they actually say they will release 2 packs at a time or is it like monthly or ? Because if they do 1 a month that perfectly lines up to March 2025, but if they do 2 pack bundles every other month like the NA and Europe, then that also adds to March 2025. I'm just thinking because if they do 2 packs releasing at once over and over and if whatever pack(s) we have left are integrated into the pass and are released 2 at a time, wouldn't it make more sense for the game to have an even amount of packs? Unless the 2024 pack(s) are not part of the pass.
Based on what they did with PlanCo, and what we're already seeing with the DLC pairings (e.g., NA/Europe at launch; Wetlands/SEA part of deluxe) I think it's safe to say they'll release a pair of DLC packs for console every other month starting in May.

Hard to say how they'll handle whatever new DLC comes. My assumption would be that it will get released across both platforms simultaneously but whether or not it gets incorporated into the Season Pass is something we'll have to learn from Frontier... Like I've said before, going from 14 to 15 packs won't make anybody mad. And while Frontier would arguably be leaving money on the table for doing so there may be a strategy behind it (i.e., getting more people to pay ~$100 up-front could arguably be a good strategy, especially if there's an assumption that more casual players may only purchase about half the packs; giving them this option and presenting it as a "deal" might drive more sales).

What have I done, the biggest arachnophobe on the forum unintentionally started insect memes
I find that learning things about their lives makes them a little less scary (I don't trust them in person or anything, but the idea of them isn't terrifying).

Spiders have book lungs, which aren't that efficient, which is why most active hunters (Jumping spiders, Huntsman) alternate between sprinting and catching their breath, and why spiders in general go for ambush or sit and wait strategies. Wolfspiders on the other hand additionally have spiracles like insects, allowing them to keep a sustained chase on cockroaches, which are pretty fast.

Orb weavers have spiracles too, I'm guessing so they can run away more consistently, or build web faster, being one of the more conspicuous web builders. In Madagascar there's Orb weavers that build webs long and strong enough to bridge rivers, giving access to a lot more insects, but also a lot more chances for web damage.

If you ever want to watch a bit, Peacock spiders are tiny performers, they're fun guys. Might also help to watch stuff in 144p, obscure the details a bit.

So I think we can reasonably pretty much speculate we won't get any kind of announcement until after the Console release date, I'm thinking? They're going to be pretty busy promoting that, up through the lead up. Beyond causing confusion as well.

It's a very crazy cycle for the next release and I wish there weren't so many things going on with PZ to make it more crazy. But...I don't begrudge the console players either; they've waited over 4 years for the game. And they know what the upcoming year will bring animal-wise, minus any other DLC yet to come.

Easy way to spot this is a fake reality:

Invertebrate fans don't exist
true the only bug we got after release was the leaf insect in SEA and even once the modding community cracked exhibit box modding invertebrate mods are still uncommon truly no one wants bugs even though they make up a huge presence in zoos.
Hi, it’s me. I’m bug fans. 😔

Excuse me what is this
Damn gotta change my name to Bug I guess. My favorite animal in game is no longer the kiwi, it’s the burrowing cockroach.

Anyways I’m no longer advocating for more waterfowl, instead this guy gets my vote:

I want him in the game I would love some more weird habitat animals like crabs.

I would like stick insects. I'm still annoyed we got leaf bugs instead.

What about the butterflies, they're insects too.
I would love to get some moths in the future, some are quite beautiful.
Also Orchid Mantis would be awesome 💚

Look guys it's the meme you mentioned earlier

Hi modder here, there aren't many bug mods not because they are unpopular but because bugs are difficult to make.

There are a lot of cool bugs people would like to get: mantises, katydids, stick insects, horned beetles, stag beetles, not to mention a LOT of butterflies and moths.

Coconut crabs really are the overlooked sleeper pick for an island or coastal pack.
An arthropod rig that can climb?
Sounds like the by far most usefull and interesting new rig thats still out there to create completly new stuff that isnt a flying bird.
Theyd also fit in really great with the scenery of the oceania pack, making them feel right at home in the tropical beach sections frontier ababled us to build.
They also are called Palm Thief in german, which i think is pretty cute

I mean they would be absolutely dope to have. I just feel that they would be one heck of an amount of work for something that very few people will actually apprechiate.
Plus for an islands pack especially there are alot of really great animals that could also make great use of that effort.

They are pretty good. They have a humidity requirement to breathe properly (just like hermit crabs), so I'd think it an Exhibit animal despite their size.

Treekangaroo, Rhinoceros Iguana and something from Madagascar would agree on that statement, but personally im pretty cool with an island pack with a few very heavy hitters and rest clones.

Think about it, islands offer some of the best clones of any still open pack theme with the shetland pony, kunekune pig, moufflon sheep, lowland anoa, celebes crested macaque, radiated tortoise and victoria crowned pidgeon.

Pick 2-3 ungulates, 2-3 of the others and fill up with some of the higher effort animals and thats a banger pack with every animal filling an active hole in the roster (domestics, SEA ungulates, Monke, small tortoise, birb).

Yeah i agree that there are some great options for clones aswell.
In general i still think that an islands animal pack Potential to be a real banger of a pack.
