Ouch, looks like 2020 is not the year for space games like I thought it would be...

Well, did they?
IIRC they claimed they did.
Haha, fair enough! That’s what they make Attorneys for! Not my profession.

Heh, he was so hopeful for the new flight model, and it was this year he had his mini-meltdown over the new flightmodel.
Heh, physicalized components prediction - nope.
Full persistence? Leave an object and it will still be there a day later... ummm, nope.
Meshing won't be done this year - yay, he got a prediction right, that CIG wouldn't do something!
SQ42 features will be "subsumed" into the PU.... lol.
SSOCS at some point - yup, he got that one.
Excepts something from gamescom or citizencon, but probably will be a SQ42 trailer... ooops.
"expect concept sales" - well, that's pretty much a guarantee with CIG
"SQ42 is aimed at being content and feature complete by the end of this year or at least extremely close to it" - oh my poor sides.
And this is all why you cannot take BG as a good source of info. He just repeats whatever CIG say.
His only use is as someone to watch to get a summary of what CIG have said. Since CIG are completely unreliable in their statements, this makes him pretty useless as a source of information about what will actually happen.
There are some 'legacy' tools that CIG are using which speak to the 'engine switch' strand, and have me intrigued...
Character Tool:
CIG are still using Character Tool. It's Cryengine software. Lumberyard doesn't use it, they use EmotionFX for characters.
(Hat tip to the Goons for this one)
Scaleform:
They were still using Scaleform for UI until very recently.
An Autodesk license (including Scaleform) was initially bundled with the Cryengine GLA. It is no longer publicly available. Lumberyard doesn't use Scaleform.
---
I'm not sure the Scaleform thing is quite as intriguing as the Character Tool use, as CIG could have just gone out and got a new Autodesk license prior to its withdrawal. (If that even matters, it's still just a third party tool ultimately).
But in total the above do suggest a kind of 'legacy' build still being in effect. One that possibly relies on various pre-Lumberyard aspects. Certainly I could imagine a court still seeing merit in poking around in these areas, if the case ever decides what the hell it's doing![]()

Some things do not change.![]()
Not a bug I believe...it's either one of the new hacks appearing or something similar. I've seen too many videos with it in now for it to be a random bug.You mean the buggy nature of Star Citizen?

I take issue sir! They add plenty of new ones every patch!![]()
Yep, nor is he a great prognosticator...
I’m no lawyer either, but there are some odd things about that ‘two day’ Lumberyard switch...

It may well be...but it seems centered or prevalent on streamers vids who post it up which points to something other than a bug. I've certainly never seen it in game during many multiple hour sessions, nor has anyone I play with, it has been discussed since it appeared....I've seen a few headless players wandering around, invisible heads with just their eyeballs appearing, but no tiny people. How does its prevalence rule it out from being a bug M?
Maybe it is a hack, but given the the gun scaling issue was introduced in 3.8, it doesn’t seem out of the realms of possibility that this is another scale glitch

That’s what happens when Crytek sells the engine to Amazon. Why isn’t Crytek going after Amazon for its pre-existing license? Most deals on WS would say the sale includes all existing Crytek licenses, IP, and contracts. But, again I’m no attorney
At this point KSP2 will beat ED and SC in 2020. Which is alright with me, as KSP is fun.

Because they claim CIG didn’t ‘switch’ in those few days, but retained the existing build and just started the new free GLA with Amazon on top. Their argument is that the initial GLA still holds regardless and has never been terminated. (Hence no beef with Amazon per se).
It’s an odd one for sure, but you have to admit that CIG’s continued use of Crytek design tools (when Lumberyard uses alternatives) does look a bit suss.
Yeah I’m still perplexed why you think this, when the video in question discussed the ‘biggest ever update’ coming in 2020. But whatevs![]()
And you believe them? I do not
