Ah yes, the planet I spent over 6 hours hunting bark mounds. Don't get me wrong, it was very pretty down there, in a lifeless, sterile kind of way, but I really wish there had been bark mounds like the scanner said there would be. I've never seen them on an atmospheric world in any screenshot (and only once in person), so this felt like it could be a first. Disappointing. Still, I rather liked the composition in this particular shot. I only regret 4 of those 6 hours.

I spent this afternoon beelining back to the bubble from 8,500ly away. Think it was about 30 jumps to go when this showed up. FSS confirmed rogue signal sources in that direction. Do we think it's intentional that the Stargoids can project their visible images at superluminal speeds? My guess is they've been dropped in as stars, but the game engine has no actual concept of the speed of light.

Weirdly I lost track of them as I got closer. Skybox rendering may have some oddities.

My thanks to CMDR Rosefine for sharing the location of this beautiful planet a while back. It's been on my bucket list ever since, and by chance I arrived at Fleming Camp just in time to catch catch the sun shining through the rings. Stunning lighting on this starport; I nearly crashed because I was doing a slow pass in external view just to take it in 😹
