Thank You FDEV!!!

Will you dissect my answer to a subatomar level to prove me wrong, if I am going to answer, or can we agree, that a good service game delivers content in less then 12 months and in better condition than "questionable" (technically and design-wise)?

I honestly did just want an example, it was a genuine question. That is why I pre-fixed it with the words "genuine" and "question".

That's a rare success example. If noone said anything we'd have squadron only with 100 million a week in upkeep and all the other punishments they originally configured.

Please don't consider the lowest effort they've ever put in the game.. the system map fleet carrier layout arrangements.. as proof of failure of the feature.

Also who's complaining? I use a rule of thumb when bumping into negative feedback: does it have basis, or is the person just projecting a narrow minded or anally retentive view? Any feedback positive or negative without support of reasoning should be easily ignored (if disagreeable :p)
I call it a failure. They should have stayed as Squadron carriers.

Ok then: Rainbow Six Siege, WoW or Warhammer Vermintide. If you allow F2P games in that category, I would also throw Path of Exile in.

Edit:
Stop bashing fdev. I can't believe forum trolls, one thing in 2 years plus they actually get right, and these people just can't stop bashing the devs. Unbelievable :p
From the perspective of the context, lore and game world, FC maintained by single CMDRs make even less sense.

Are you really saying your personal definition of abandonment is adding new content, regularly patching it and creating DLC ?.

The forum undead always give off smoke when you shine a bit of positivity on them.
Compared to the past, it sure does feel like borderline abandonment.

You should see Asetto Corsa Competizione. The devs of that game add content regularly and address bugs that said content introduces within days and they're a much smaller developer with a much smaller budget.

Umm, that tends to be how software works - small teams move fast, larger teams get slower as the communications overhead / synchronisation issues increase.

Now if you can some up with a larger team doing more frequent updates then it's a better example really. Like the Star Citizen team .... oh, maybe not ;)

No disrespect to Kunos, racing games much like arena FPS titles do have far less "paths" of play than open world games.

Generally there is "racing" in a racing game, there are many types of racing sure but the main gameplay on offer involves a track and moving things on the track, so the bugs tend to be somewhat easier to recreate. Yes there is challenges with networking, graphics profiles and all the perhipheral stuff - but I'm going to put it out there that there are many types of games that have a smaller "attack surface" when it comes to issues, and racing games tend to be a robust option.

So the developer in me thinks, well that's an argument to make more racing games and arena shooters or games with linear paths , because they are cheaper to make, cheaper to QA and incur less issues.

It's a brave developer that takes on online open space with multiple play paths.

I had a look seems like a nice racing game, they are not really my thing. It's not exactly a complex game though far less reliance on RNG and very limited playing area, so updates are probably far more simplistic and less can go wrong.
